In our living room the trim around the windows goes all the way flush with the wall, so we can't hang individual rods above each of the 2 windows. I was thinking about getting a single thin, very long rod and run it all the way across the room.
In the pic the rod would be the red stripe - would probably need a support above the fireplace. White is where I'd hang the curtains on the outer side of each window. Do you think this would look weird? I can't decide if it would be a bad look, or come out nicely and emphasize the width/height of the room.
I think it would look weird. I actually think you may have enough room to hang them individually where the red in is - and then have them come down where the white line is and adjacent to the fireplace. I wouldn't get anything too heavy or bulky though since the space isn't much next to the fireplace.
