This weekend I had to buy a new dress to attend an event because nothing in my closet fits. I ended up with 3 sizes above my "normal" which is 2 sizes above where I was 2 months ago. I am at my highest weight ever and am miserable, but I can't seem to get motivated... My insomnia has been really bad and all I want to do now is crawl in to bed. I was doing pretty well on C25K at the beginning of the summer, but then it got sooo hot... and I have issues with my jaw that currently have my body so tight and tense and in pain. My husband keeps telling me to get to yoga (I would be going to a 90 min Bikram class) but for 2 weeks now I have made excuse after excuse to not go... Sigh. I don't know what kind of encouragement I need but I need to leave in 15 minutes if I'm going to make it.
Lurker here, but I say go. You will feel so much better if you go than if you don't go. Drag yourself there. Tell yourself you can leave after 15 minutes if you are hating it. You won't leave. Good luck!
I always try to tell myself to give it 5 - 10 minutes and then if I am not enjoying it, I can stop. So, go to your yoga class and see - you can always walk out if you don't start to feel better after 10 mins (but I bet you will!).
Also, I think that exercise might help with your insomnia.
I gained a lot of weight from all my broken feet in the last 4 years. My fitbit and tracking food seems to really be helping. I've lost almost 10lbs in a month
I've been there, and I'm in a similar boat right now. I have found one pilates class that I really, really love though, and that makes it easier to at least do something. If you don't like this class, keep looking until you find another. Having a class you like makes at the difference.

I feel the same way a lot. There's something else I'd rather/should be doing and/or I just don't wanna exercise. When I get into that mindset, I try to force myself to do one of my 10 Minute Solutions videos. My goal is to just do one 10min segment, because 10 min is better than no minutes. I do find that I'm usually game for two or three after the first one, but not always. Sometimes it really is just the one 10 min segment. And that's okay. 10 min is better than none. You can do the same with your yoga class. Or do you have a yoga DVD maybe? I find it's harder to talk myself out of doing something if I don't have to leave my house.
It sounds like you're dealing with a lot of stress on top of feeling down about your weight. (These are two things I can TOTALLY relate to.)
My psych said that for stress management, the most important part of exercise is frequency, not duration or intensity. Starting out by jumping into a 90-minute yoga class sounds really daunting to me. Could you start by just walking for 15 minutes every day? Then next week, walk for 25 minutes every day? Then the next week, go to yoga? Or something like that?
Hugs. I feel you. I was doing really well last week, and one weekend of a few minor indulgences undid almost all of it.
Don't forget that exercise helps with insomnia, too. I know I have been really stressed out recently and that makes me sleep poorly, which in turn makes me not want to exercise, but when I manage to drag myself out the door I absolutely sleep better afterwards. Lack of sleep is also tied to weight gain, so you might achieve positive results on multiple fronts.

Thanks you guys! The 1st few posts got me going and I headed out the door. I didn't participate in the entire 90 minute class but I stayed and would rest and then rejoin when I felt up to it. That worked out well and I feel pretty good now. I just need to make it a habit and also figure out how to be more productive with my time. Hot yoga really does wonders for my body from a release as well as weight loss perspective. It's just such a time commitment to drive 20 minutes to the studio, do a 90 min class, drive back home. I think I am going to commit for 10 classes and then research some alternatives that are closer to home and have a shorter class. Thanks so much for the kick in the butt. I really needed it!
I am on MFP but haven't been using it. Will start again today. I am already connected with a couple of you guys but anyone else who would like to friend me there, my name is vsea.
