So we currently have Comcast but are now considering switching to Uverse. Here are my experiences and concerns...looking for some advice.
We currently have 3 TVs (Main TV in living room, secondary TV in family room, and rarely used TV in basement). All are HD. The TV in the basement is used only on rare occasion if DH wants to watch some show or sporting event that I'm not interested in. We could possible get rid of that cable box but we tend to keep it, "just in case" We have 1 DVR, and get HBO, mostly for Bill Maher and Sunday evening shows (True Blood, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, etc).. We also have internet that is about 20 MB/sec
Currently we pay about $120-$130 a month for this service. We have never paid for HBO as it's always throw it in for free, but it requires every few months to call in and beg for a discount.. which is a pain but I guess worth it to keep the cost down. Other than the pain about constantly calling, we are happy with the service and use ondemand for kid shows a decent amount our DD.
We got a Uverse offer that would be similar programing, free HBO (for 3 months), 3 TVs (one with a wireless box), DVR, and internet up to 18 MB for about $110 locked for a year. We like the idea of having a wireless box that we can move and possibly share between the basement and extra TV (if we ever buy one for DD's play room).
Our concerns are: Is the TV and internet quality decent with AT&T, does the wireless receiver work consistently, if we ever try something like Netflix will the internet speed be sufficient?
I don't have a wireless box so I have no idea about. But we stream online via amazon prime and netflix all the time with no issues. We have been doing so for 3 yrs. The speed and qualitiy is more than sufficient. I am very satisfied with my service and never once thought about switiching.

Love U-verse! We have a wireless box in our bedroom TV and it's fantastic. The only trouble I've ever had is when the power goes out you have to re-set the box. But that doesn't take long at all.
Our internet is great. My hubby is a huge gamer so speed is important. I also stream movies from Amazon all the time with no trouble.
I <3 U-verse and have had so many issues with shitty Comcast service in the past.
we had constant issues with our tv signal on uverse they'd just tell us to reset the box and then it would be better for a day and then suck again. So we switched to another local provider (Surewest)

We just switched last week and it was awesome to finally ditch Comcast. FYI we were told that the way lines were run to our house, there has to be one box designated as the main box, and it can't be wireless because it has to hook into the cable/modem. The other boxes in the house can be wireless.
Our concerns are: Is the TV and internet quality decent with AT&T, does the wireless receiver work consistently, if we ever try something like Netflix will the internet speed be sufficient?
We've had U-verse for 3 or 4 years and the answer to all of these questions is yes, definitely; internet speed and reliability are great. We've barely had an outage - I would say less than one per year - and those have been for maybe 5 minutes at most. There haven't been any of those hour-long outages like we used to have with Time Warner.
