My husband's closest brother was found dead this morning - by his mother She hadn't heard from him (which isn't totally abnormal, kind of an introverted bachelor), and she had a feeling that she should go and see if he was okay. She followed a trail of dark stains in the carpet, and found him dead in his bed - the EMTs said something about a hole in his esophagus.
We went to his house this afternoon, and you could see the trail from the living room to the bathroom to his bedroom, something, like he was coughing up or throwing up blood. So awful. We won't know more details until the autopsy is completed, he was only 32.
I'm sick for my H - they were so close, closest in age of all his siblings, inseparable growing up. He's in shock. I think we all are, especially his mother. I can't believe she had to find her child like that.
ETA: thanks for all the kind words. It's appreciated.
I'm so sorry. I'm not a regular poster but I couldn't read this and not respond. I feel so terrible for your mother in law. No mother should have to see/experience that. And so sad for your husband and the whole family. I'm sorry for your loss.
