Get anything done? Put up your lights or tree? AW stuff here!
I didn't get much done. I dedicated myself to finishing the window "curtain" for the front window (it's a roll-up style blind, actually), and getting it hung:
It looks super easy, but for whatever reason, it took me FOREVER to properly do the runners for the buttonholes. I wish I knew why, because I'd never make that mistake again. Either way, it's finished and I'm happy with it.
We repaired the basement stairs since the stringers were separating from the steps. We still have to do the bottom two steps, but everything else is now secure, and I can feel more confident that trips to the basement will not end in death or broken limbs.
For the past several months, AtHome has had Suncast garage cabinets on clearance for 50% off, but we never pulled the trigger. This weekend, we decided to get them if they were still there. Not only did they still have some, but they were marked down to 75% off. So, we ended up getting two tall cabs, two wall cabs, and a base cab for less than $300. We'll get another base cab at Menard's next weekend since they're on sale there (just not as good of a deal).
Other than that, I worked on homework, job searching, and car searching. Only 2.5 more weeks until I graduate!
ETA: I'll throw this in here. Today was the first day since the election I didn't wake up with/in (?) an anxiety attack.
DH put the Christmas lights up on the house. I rearranged furniture in the living room and set up/put lights on our two big trees. Well....I put lights on one of them. We bought the wrong color white lights for the other tree and they looked weird not matching so we have to get new lights for that tree today. We bought a second revolving tree stand for the new tree. One of the dogs likes to lay her head on the arm of the sofa and watch the ornaments go by, and I just like that I get a chance to see enjoy all of the ornaments and don't miss seeing the ones facing the window or wall.
DH finished framing the closet, but we didn't feel like wrestling with drywall, so now there is a huge opening between the guest room and main bathroom. It is going to be a great closet for storage in the guest room once the drywall is up. Thankfully, we are having family come for Christmas so we can't put it off indefinitely and really need to get it done. I guess it would be an interesting shortcut for whoever is staying in the guestroom if he didn't get it done, but I'm not going to mention that one to DH. lol
I know that we both spent most of the weekend busy with stuff around the house, but right now I can't remember what else I did....just that I was exhausted by the end of the weekend, and still have a long to do list.

We didn't do much work but had lots of frustration with our contractor as his kitchen guy didn't get things ready for the granite guys, which meant that our worktops did NOT get installed. There will also be a cost to bring them back and I'm making our contractor eat the cost. His problem. Ugh. I really want to move in 2-1/2 weeks and I don't think it's going to happen.
