How exciting to see a friend come so far....every week I've watched, and every week I've been on the edge of my seat thinking this is it - but holy crap, he might actually win this thing!
Last night's episode was pretty wham bam thank you m'am. I do like that they voted Will out within the first few minutes. He was getting on my every last nerve. I'm liking David and Adam, though leaning more towards David.
This was in interesting episode in that the 2 least developed/least interesting characters were booted, and the show didn't even bother to pretend their boot was interesting enough to carry an hour show on its own. I'm not sure I've ever seen that before.
I think Jay is pretty dangerous. Despite being a challenge threat and an "easy" boot choice for the last several episodes, I don't think he's ever gotten more than one vote. People seem to like him, he isn't really on anyone's bad side. If I were playing, I really would not want him against me at the final.
I think David and Adam have pretty similar resumes, and either one would beat Hannah or Bret.
Every time I see one of these threads I am always SHOCKED that this show is still on television.
Most of my friends/family think it's hilarious that I'm so into this show, still, so you're not alone. But it's one of the very few TV shows I've been loyal to from the beginning because they've been able to keep the overall formula consistent while still making small twists along the way to keep it fresh. But most of all it keeps me interested because every season is so different due to the mix of different personalities - I love the psychology of it. There are seasons I like way more than others, and it's almost always because I strongly like or dislike the players.
The other show I still love is The Amazing Race, but that one has gotten a little gimmicky recently, which doesn't work as well for me because I've always watched it mostly for the travelogue factor.
I'm very glad that they didn't drag out a double-elimination episode to two hours since much of the episode was a little ho-hum.
That having said, this might be my favorite season ever. I love that they cast actual fans and that the majority of them are playing HARD. They even got rid of a goat (see ya, Sunday!). I would be fine with any of the remaining folks left winning (well, maybe not Bret who can be a jackwagon sometimes). I don't think I've ever felt that way with so many folks left.
So many surprise blindsides (for the players, for us, the viewers). No heroes, no villains, no bullies. I don't know who I thought would be in the final 6 (Jay maybe?) but not the rest of these folks.
Pretty, pretty Ken won a puzzle challenge and I loved that Adam helped him out.
They also got rid of Will, who was getting mighty big for his britches and newsflash Will, Adam stole your thunder by using his idol to save Hannah (even though it wasn't necessary).
And yes, McGavin , that scene of Adam and Jay in the hammock, is probably my favorite in Survivor history for just the realness and raw emotion. They weren't players, they weren't strategizing. They were two little boys, scared to death of losing their moms. An ideal final 2 would be Adam vs Jay and I love them both.
And sadly, Adam does lose his mom, two days after final tribal council, which makes me think he will be pulled from the game sometime during the finale.
These extra scenes just broke my heart but made my love for Adam/Jay grow all the more.
Jay is really growing on me. I LOVE his relationship with Adam. He says "Adam always lies to me." But yet Jay really respects Adam and I loved it when he said Adam is a warrior. Awesome! I also think Jay doesn't have any enemies on the jury. Correct me if I'm wrong. Taylor and Michelle both love him.
I can't wait to see what the legacy advantage is that Ken has.
I wish they would do the challenge where they have to eat gross things. That is highly entertaining!

David or Adam needs to win this game. My hunch is that Brett will win due to bitter jury syndrome. My dream final 3 would have been David, Adam and Zeke.

Why?
I just feel like it's been on for 100 years. But also I think it's because no one I know actually watches it, so I never hear about it and therefore forget it exists.
I'm probably in the minority but I haven't been overly impressed with David. Jay is playing a strong physical game and Adam is playing a strong mental game so I'd like to see those 2 go to the end. I like Ken too.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact that David was on the show, I probably wouldn't even give it a second thought either. I never watched it or had any interest until now.
I just keep thinking to myself holy crap - he might actually win this thing! Even if he didn't win, the fact that he's come this far, and overcome some of his fears, for me, has been amazing.

This is one of my favorite parts of watching Survivor - when people step huge out of their comfort zone and try things they never would have done.

Yes, David is from Media. We went to grade school together. We all generally get together during Thanksgiving weekend when everyone is home for the holiday, but this year was too hectic so H & I had to skip it this time. I'm new to watching this show, and I think Jay using his idol puts him in a vulnerable position because they definitely want him out. Who knows what is going to happen though because it's true - he is a strong player.

Yea, that's the thing about David. When I first saw the promos for the show, there was a bit where he was talking about the social anxiety, and I had no idea that this was an issue for him. Like any time we've gotten together as a group, he's the one who is not putting himself at the center of attention. Yes, he will talk to people, but he's relatively quiet. Next time we see him, he's sure going to have a lot to talk about. Hopefully he can handle being the center of attention because it will be unavoidable lol

the fact that they were using the term "goat" made me excited. I hate when they say they are fans but don't even know what happened 2 seasons ago. I don't think "goat" is broadly used term that a casual watcher would know. You only know that term if you understand the different types of players in Survivor.
I like David, but I'm not getting my hopes up that he makes it to the finale. He's been targeted already and he's on everyone's radar as being a huge social threat. His time on the chopping may be coming sooner rather than later.
I love that they condensed both of these votes into one episode. OMG Will's voice... UGH. Not sorry to not hear him anymore.
Getting rid of Sunday screws up Adam's game. Ken and Hannah didn't want to vote against David. They'll vote against Adam before they vote against David. They're his goats.
I'd love to see Adam or David win. Not a Jay fan. It;d be very bittersweet for Adam especially.
