Just like everyone else has said....socks! I like the Smart Wool ones. They run about $15 and I hate buying them myself. Also the Spi Belt. I have the smallest one and use it all the time even when not running.
i LOVE this idea and i'm going to save it for future gifting - i'm just not sure about the execution of it for someone you don't really know. maybe a gift card or something to buy one?
Socks for sure - do include a gift receipt because type is so personal. Compression socks or leg sleeves from Pro Compression, Stance (Stance has awesome patterns for regular, running and compression socks!) or Zensah.
Nuun tablets
Gu packets
Flip Belt
Handheld water bottle 16 oz - Amphipod and Nathan make good ones.
I'm a runner and I'd like pretty much anything the PP's have suggested.
Ditto socks (I love Balega). I feel like serious runners are already going to have a Spi belt, reflective gear, etc, but you can never have too many quality pairs of running socks. Or a gift card to your local running store.
This thread has really shown me how different runners are. So much running gear either people have or are super picky about. What about a training log or motivational book? Sure many (most?) people use digital ones but sometimes paper is fun. I have friends that like Believe journal

Personally I wouldn't use any sort of training journal. I have a Garmin watch and download all my runs which is my way of logging them.
But maybe a motivational book. Born to Run? Or if she's a mom maybe Run Like a Mother?
