We started with 8 each of red (Bordeaux) and white Spigaleau wine glasses from Pottery Barn when we got married 11 years ago. We're down to 3 red and 2 white. Whoops.
New wine glasses would make an excellent present for dh! I'd love a rec on good quality glasses. I have no problems hand washing; I never put my wine glasses in the dish washer.
I've always liked the shape of pinot nior glasses but we tend to drink more cab. We are not discerning enough to "get" the difference in the shape of the glasses though.
Any recs? Hoping to get a set of each that will last at least another 10 years!

Our favorites are our Riedel Vinum Extreme glasses. They're not cheap but they're gorgeous and really enhance whatever wine you drink out of them. link Amazon sells them, if you can't find them in stores near you.
Another vote for Riedel. We went to a Riedel sponsored wine tasting and contrary to belief, you CAN put them in the DW. The only time we've broken one is when my H was hand washing one or one's been knocked over. Otherwise, we put them in the top shelf of the D/W with no problems. For white, the stemless ones are kind of fun.

I feel like this is a pretty good deal? a little over $14/glass shipped? I ordered 6. I wish they had the white wine on special. Dh will have to learn that these are NOT patio/fireside glasses.
Another vote for Riedel. But we have one of their restaurant lines because my friend is a country club manager. We have a standard Sauvignon Blanc glass for white and Pinot Noir for red. If we eventually replace our glasses, I will get Cab glasses for the red. I prefer the shape after using Pinot Noir glasses for a long time.
If you have a Kohls card they carry Riedel now too and you can use all their coupons on them. I'm down to one glass for red and plan on getting some from there when they're running 30% off for cardholders.

This is good to know, thanks! I don't have a Kohls card but it might not be a bad one to have.

I think it's one of the few store cards that's actually worth having. I get most of my kids clothes from there when they have good stackable discounts.
