We haven't done one of these in a little while, and soon there will be a new crop of babies to add!
How is everyone doing? How are all the babies? What are they doing that's awesome lately? Anything that worries you? There are a bunch of us with babies who are almost 1 year old now. Any plans for a big party?
Z is 13.5 months now. He's walking and running everywhere. He is into everything! He loves to read as well loira! He has certain books he wants me to read over and over daily.
He has a handful of words and he will babble like he's telling me something, I wish I knew what he was saying.
Toddler tantrums have shown their ugly face. Solo parenting is rough on those days. But despite that, this age is a lot of fun. He is such a sweet loving boy and I can't believe how quickly he's growing up.
Great idea!! T will be one at the end of the month. I can't believe it! We are going to do cake on his actual bday and then a party after the new year with friends and family. He is a pretty good sleeper still but wanting to drop to one nap soon I think. I'm trying to hold him off! He does about 11 hours overnight and naps are 1.5 hours twice a day. Verbally I have been worried about him and was going to press for a speech eval at his 1 year, but he seems to have made a lot of strides in the past few weeks. He says Mama and "woof!" When he sees a dog. He's said Dada a few times but not consistent. My concern is that he mouths words a lot without sounds and doesn't babble much. He seems to work out how to talk in his head quietly and by mouthing words for a long time before deciding to say a word. His receptive language is great -- he knows his body parts, colors, does so big, kisses, claps, song motions, family members names, and does a little "I don't know" which is the cutest thing ever. He signs milk and more. The pedi said 3 words by 1 year and really Mama is his only word so we will see if she wants a speech eval. He is crawling and taking steps but not walking. He loves climbing up and down the stairs and on the climbing blocks I got him. Personality wise he is pretty shy/quiet (which is why I think he doesn't talk more!). He is definitely opinionated though. He loves reading books, we have to read all the day long -- but if you pick up the wrong book he slams it shut! So funny! He will sit and look at his books by himself for a good 30 min at a time (thank you!). At story time or Gymboree he is much more likely to be off by himself or watching the other babies instead of jumping right in. He is doing great eating, he eats huge plates of food and we are doing 3 meals and 1-2 snacks a day. He feeds himself except for yogurt and oatmeal but I'd like to get him working on the spoon soon. We are still nursing with no plans to stop.
Calvin is 4 weeks old today! After a rough first week, he's been an absolute joy and I love been his mom so much. He's such a sweet and alert little guy, and has been a good sleeper too (he slept from 10:30-7 with only one wake up last night!).
Breastfeeding is going pretty well, although we've both gotten pretty reliant on the nipple shield. I need to try harder to wean off it, but I've been a bit lazy in that arena.
I'm already sad thinking about going back to work in 8 weeks. I love hanging with my little guy so much and don't know how I'm going to leave him!
C is almost 9 months already. It's crazy how time flies. My little man is quite the beast as he's already over 21 pounds. It's not going to be long before before he'll be out of all of his current clothes. He loves to eat though. We are trying to start giving him things he can feed himself but he's very finicky about textures in his mouth.
He's not crawling yet but he's a champ at turning around in circles on his stomach and pushing himself backwards. He will get up on his hands and knees but is nowhere near being able to move forward. He's very ticklish and M is great at making him laugh.
We had a rough few weeks awhile back as he had a severe eczema outbreak. It took multiple dr appointments plus 3 different prescriptions (one after the other), a topical antibiotic plus an or one just to get it under control. This was all in addition to the Baby Aveeno I was already putting on him. That poor kid was rubbed down 3 times a day with different stuff. Now that it's gone I just put the Baby Aveeno on him twice a day. Thankfully it didn't seem to bother him too much.
Brianna will be 3 months in about a week. She's a great sleeper (STTN for weeks now) and loves to eat. She's 95th percentile on weight so she's got some serious rolls. It's so crazy seeing her learn things - she is reaching for toys and smiles a ton. Time is flying by so fast!

K will be 2 months this week. I can't believe how much she has changed in such a short time. I'm very curious as to how much she weighs now and we will find out this week at the doctor. We get lots of smiles and coos now. She's been a decent sleeper usually giving us at least one 4 hour stretch each night. She can be a crappy napper during the day so we're working on that. We were at a conference this week and she was such a delight. Her father was parading her around quite proudly. Breastfeeding is going really well and it's at the easy and convenient point now.
E is 16.5 months now, and running around everywhere! He's picking up new words all the time, and is getting decent at saying his own name. E loves balls, shoes, yogurt, Goodnight Moon, baths, and being outside. He does not like having his diaper or clothes changed, sleeping, eating most foods other than yogurt or bread.
DH is making a Saturday morning tradition of taking him out for breakfast while I work. Here is this morning. He looks way too old!

L is 19 months old, which blows my mind. She's turning into a little girl and is so damn smart. New words all the time, healthy, strong, and determined. We are so proud she is ours.
Really looking forward to this Christmas with her. She's a little young to understand everything but will still enjoy the gifts and fun.

Love seeing all the babies!
Gus is 5 months now and such a joy! If you've seen my other posts, the sleeping is not going great, but otherwise he's such a ham that I just drink coffee and get over it, lol! He is rolling all over the place and sitting up and I am on high alert for first teeth popping up. He's making cute faces and expressions all the time, and I think looks just like his daddy. And he absolutely loves our dogs (they are still not too sure about him ). I'm going crazy wanting to buy him everything for Christmas even though he doesn't have a clue what's going on, so I keep having to stop myself. Partially I'm just very excited and partially I feel guilty since we don't have a tree and haven't decorated because we are moving in a week. Overall, things are going well, it's just crazy to see how fast they grow and how much he's not a "baby" anymore and really a little person!

loira , it's always fun for me to compare A and H, since they're gestationally about the same age (even though their birthdays are a month apart). H is good at motor skills but not great at communication.
H also waves, and she just started clapping. I think she was trying to give kisses, but they started to end in bites, so we put the kibosh on that. I hadn't thought of 'so big', but she puts her arms up (when she feels like it) when I say 'champion'. It's a holdover from when she was a newborn, and when we unswaddled her, she'd stretch her arms above her head like she'd just won an Olympic medal.
She likes to play with books, but isn't so much into reading them. God forbid she sit still for a few minutes while we read a book. She crawls and cruises and walks with her little push-cart walker thing.
She doesn't have any words though. She says mama and papa, along with other sounds, but there's no real connection to anything when she says them.
Daycare taught her how to feed herself, and it's awesome, so much easier, even if she does make a mess. She eats everything I throw at her, but she particularly likes kalamata olives, tomatoes, beans, and pasta.
Oh, and she finally started sleeping through the night, THANK GOD.

I like comparing them, too. I know, I know "you shouldn't compare bla bla bla" but it helps to know roughly what A is like versus other babies her age.
I love how H looks like she's trying to steal Christmas. So cute!

Oh my goodness, the cuteness in this thread!
R is 4 months and is a really good baby, he is chill like his Daddy and we are so lucky. He is grabbing everything, smiling tons and laughing sometimes, and constantly moving his arms and legs. He babbles all the time and we have fun making up what we think he said He loves baths, being naked in general, being in his car seat (either in the car or in the stroller), and when Mommy sings to him, especially Christmas songs (ok I don't know if that is really true)

Yay pictures! I've been meaning to ask for one of A, since the last I'd seen was from when she was a newborn. She was wearing a fancy dress, and it gave me this image of her like she's just so dignified. Ha! Somehow I don't think any baby is dignified. She's so cute with her big eyes!
Every few months, daycare sends us a questionnaire about her development, and she's been on the slow side of normal for talking since she was a newborn. I've heard a lot of anecdotes about how babies seem to either focus on moving or talking, and before I had H, I joked that I was hoping for a talker. Not only do you get some extra time before they get into everything, but, from what I've heard, being able to communicate saves talkers some frustration. Save

Haha, yeah she is kind of bizarrely dignified for a baby. We call her 'Queen Baby'. She loves to hold things delicately in her hands and examine them from every angle. All her little baby friends in my walking group put everything in their mouths (like normal babies), but A will pick up pine needles off the carpet - you can't escape them here - and will just look at them before handing them to me. I'm jealous that H goes to nursery. I'm not complaining about the time I spend with A, but I would love to go back to work full time and I think she would really benefit socially from being in a daycare. My friend has a baby the same age as yours and she tells me she relies on nursery to tell her if her little boy is meeting milestones, and to teach him things. I feel like I'm too lazy to teach A to feed herself or use a sippy cup (another thing she has no interest in). I'd do full on BLW except I worry she just wouldn't eat anything... I'm also jealous of boiler717's T eating all those plates of food.
That's awesome that H is so mobile though. I'm sure it relieves frustration too. If she wants a particular toy she can just go get it.
