These probably fall under "you already know this" lol.
First, my mother and stepdafather have the flu. They're both on meds. I should be okay to go there by Christmas Eve, right?
Second, my RE told me next week is my graduation appointment. Omg, yay! But I feel bittersweet about it, and stopping my meds. Wtf? I was dying to be here and now I feel weird. Did this happen to you?

1. Probably, but I would check with the doctor to make sure it is okay. Did you get a flu shot yet?
2. I was sad to leave the RE because everyone knew me, I never had to wait long to be seen since I just went in during monitoring hours (and it was a new satellite office that wasn't used much yet), and I liked being able to email my nurse with questions. After a little bit of a rough start with the ob, I think I've settled in. I'm very grateful that they are easygoing about letting me come in pretty much weekly for doppler checks.
Oddly enough, I was not that anxious to stop my meds. I just wanted to be done PIO- my ass is still numb in spots- and the endometrin sucked. I knew my progesterone was going up so my body actually was doing its job so I think that made it easier.

Yes, that's it, too. I genuinely like these people, I know every doctor and nurse and know what to expect with them. It's weird to just be done with them, even though that's the goal! Haha, so odd.
I cannot freaking wait to be done with PIO, but as I was prepping the shot last night I realized it has taken up so much of our lives.
thoseareradishes, I wanted to ask, but we got caught up discussing OBs. When should I get it done, in your experience? I never get one, also, does that make a difference?

cherryvalance, I think you can get the flu shot at anytime, but again, best to check with your doc. Flu while pregnant can be really serious so it's important to protect yourself.

1. I would think it should be fine, but I would get your flu shot ASAP. I think it's safe anytime, but you can call your dr. to check. I got mine at about 5-6 weeks because I got my positive right at the beginning of flu season and wanted to make sure I had the shot. I never regularly got flu shots before getting pregnant either (fear of needles, HA HA HA!)
2. Totally happened to me. I felt super sad to leave my RE, they were all so sweet, but my OB was also great so that made it a little easier. And I was happy to stop meds, the last couple weeks were the worst with bruising/bleeding after PIO, but also a little nervous so I think that's totally normal too.
I think there's a weird amount of comfort/co-dependence in the patient/RE relationship just because we see them literally every day sometimes for weeks/months so its scary to move on. But also super exciting! Congrats!

1) Depending on when they got the flu I would be hesitant to go there. When I was had the flu a couple of years ago my doctor told me to not leave the house or have anyone come over for 7 days from the onset of symptoms. Since you are pregnant I would be really careful, I would not want the flu while pregnant.
Definitely get the flu shot. I got one last year when pregnant with A and it was nbd. They will likely be far less contagious in a week, but play it by ear. I would be really hesitant to go over if they're still showing a lot of symptoms.
I was sad to leave the RE as well. She graduated me as soon as we saw the heartbeat, at 6w1d. I loved her and her staff, they were just so warm and friendly. I already knew my OB though, had been going to her for years for annual well woman checks, plus she did my first 2 IUIs. And I worked with her at the hospital, so that confirmed she was the right choice for me. So I made an appointment with my OB as soon as I walked out of the RE office, for 8 weeks. I stayed on my meds though, until I ran out of progesterone at 11 weeks.
ETA: and please go get your flu shot. I got mine while I was stimming for IVF. It's perfectly safe and will keep you and baby safe.
