I was given a Bernina 1080 and am trying to refresh my mind on sewing and learn the machine. I am a novice at best and haven't done any sewing since college (which 10+ years ago).
It seems that since this model is so old there isn't much out there on it. I will basically be using it for small house projects and maybe some clothes for my daughter.
Just curious if anyone has any recs or knows of good blogs that use Bernina? Google and YouTube weren't much help last night.

Do you have a manual? I think a manual and a basic sewing skills review will get you on the right track. Craftsy has some free basics classes. I sew on a 1971 Bernina 730 Record and belong to a Vintage Bernina group, but I don't think your 1080 is that old. Maybe this group? www.facebook.com/groups/2226547537/
I also have an older (probably 20-ish years) bernina and was able to find the manual online, which might help. Also, if you have a bernina dealer near you, some of them offer classes/personal sessions on how to use your machine, even the older ones. When I looked into it, they cost about $100, so maybe not worth it for the projects you want to do, but if you are planning to use it a lot, it might be valuable to know how to get the most out of your machine.
There is a great shop relatively local to you that has classes and is also a Bernina dealer with respect for old machines too. I've sent you a PM with the info.
