Someone is suing Bag of Dicks

I hope she is successful.  This site is clearly designed to hide people who are harassing others, despite what they try to say in their Terms of Service.

A guy I know posted a story on Facebook about this with even less information - basically just that they were sent and she's suing, with no information about her car being keyed or the Craigslist ads. He said that maybe she should focus her time on being the kind of person who doesn't deserve a bag of dicks. Ugh. I hate people. No wonder women don't report harassment.

Fuck this company. If they honestly think that the only people who use them are doing it in good fun and not for harassment, then they are too ignorant to exist.

As an HR director myself I hope she is able to find out who did it.

HR - particularly employee relations - is a tough job. You are constantly trying to make sure the company and employees are protected during times when there are competing agendas, motives, and at times inappropriate behavior.

People get pissed at you. Employees who get fired, employees who don't get fired, managers who aren't allowed to fire someone, managers who are investigated for being dicks, managers who are dicks, candidates who don't get jobs, candidates who do get jobs, employees who don't feel they are paid enough, employees who get raises but still aren't happy with them. Employees who don't like the recognition gifts that are given, employees who love the recognition gifts and wish they could have two, and so on.

It can be a really thankless, tiring job actually.

And then there are the psychos who slander you on FB, stalk you, the people who you worry might shoot you through your office window because you often work late and are vulnerable, the husbands who beat their wives nearly to death so they are not allowed to see them on company property anymore, and more.

To have her car keyed and the Craigslist ads, she must be terrified. Then to get a bag of dicks, she must be pissed too.

For a minute I thought this was a lawsuit related to the bag of dicks harassment here at pandce.

Right? I can see sending these to, say, my brother if it were a longstanding joke between us (it's not and I wouldn't because ew). But then it's only funny if he knows it's me who sent them. Anonymous bags of dicks are 99.9% intended to be hurtful.

If this were sincere maybe the company should be more open with information about senders when it's requested by recipients so recipients don't have to fucking sue to get the information. For the thank you note.

Yes. They didn't think it was funny but they also didn't think it was a big deal. More like they didn't get it. This was after what happened here, so I could only think harassment. I also had a friend joke to another friend that they should send a bag to someone in their life who was being a dick (I can't remember the particulars). And I told them they shouldn't because it is straight up harassment and not funny. I don't get sending it anonymously as a joke. How is the person supposed to get you back?

But I have seen gummy dicks as jokes.  We had them at a bachelorette weekend about 10+ years ago.  It was not from this company and I don't know where my friend got them, but they were out with other similar shaped candy on a condo coffee table under the reasoning that this would be the last time our friend would sample so many different penises.

I know someone who has received them. I wouldn't call them a friendly gesture.

A friend of mine was going through a nasty divorce where her ex was being a major douche, and one of her friends sent the ex a bag of these.

I have seen gummy dicks for parties and such. I think the person I know who got them thought they came from a company like that and was a mistake. She kind of brushed it off. I wish I had a better memory.

I hope this woman wins her lawsuit and it opens the door for other recipients to be able to find out who the sender is.

I do know someone in my family who received one of these as well. We are pretty sure it was not intended as a funny thing. She put up an "eff you, anonymous person" post on Facebook. I never heard her mention it again.
