DS always asks me to close the bathroom door when he goes to bed (it’s across the hall from his room) because one night the tub made a very loud gurgling noise as the plumbing in the basement “cleared out” and it scared him. So, I always close the bathroom door. NBD. Twice this week the bathroom door has been closed, without explanation. Once was when I got home from work (FF was at work all day, there were no windows open and neither cat was trapped in the bathroom….) and the other was this morning (again, no windows were open and I know FF wouldn’t have closed it. Even though I closed the door when DS went to bed, I left it open before I went to bed). I can’t help but wonder if we have a “ghost” who is closing the door for DS.
DS has a toy truck that will occasionally go off in his toy bin with nobody around. When I was watching Long Island Medium on Sunday, one of the people she was reading mentioned that her son’s toys sometimes go off on their own. Theresa told his lady her brother’s spirit acknowledged that was his way of being ‘present’….and right then, DS’ toy truck went off. Granted, it’s possible that truck has a short in it or something, but it creeped me out.
Another instance was a few weeks ago. We had one of those glass drink dispensers on our counter in the kitchen. FF had washed/dried it the day before and we just hadn’t gotten to putting it away yet. One morning I noticed that the glass base of it was cracked and sitting a good 3-4” away from the rest of the container, and there was a crack in the side of it. I asked FF if he knew what happened to it and he said, “That must’ve been what I heard in the kitchen when I was watching the game last night. I heard a crack and a pop, so I went to see what happened. I didn’t notice anything right away, but that must’ve been it”. I asked him if the cats were in the kitchen and he said no……
Anyone have spirit/ghost stories they want to share? This stuff fascinates me.

When I was 17, my grandfather died very unexpectedly. My grandmother gave me his car since I was just starting to drive. In the winter, the heat would go on all by itself. I also said that my grandfather "haunted" the car. WE had the car looked at many times by mechanics and nothing was ever wrong with it.

I lived in a haunted house on a haunted property (I rented a house on a hill, it used to be the stagecoach driver's house on an old estate with three houses on it). It was pretty creepy. Different people had different interactions with the ghosts. I had one friend that saw them. Two different people heard them and I "felt" them, not literally felt them like one touched me but sensed them. One morning I was in the shower and the water was a normal temperature but my skin started to feel like it was on fire. At that same moment all the smoke alarms went off in the house. There was no smoke or fire. Lots of other crazy stuff too.
I don't believe in ghosts. I do believe in psychics, just not mediums. I believe in astrology, and runes and tarot cards, but not ghosts or spirits or demons.
Yesterday was ghost day over on ML, and someone posted something about how she thought she saw the ghost of a little girl in her home, and then someone else posted that she would be afraid that the ghost would possess her child, and then my brain exploded after I read that.
I lived in a haunted house. My siblings and I all heard bits of conversations, which always included a young boy talking. There would be drawings on the walls and our toys would be moved or broken. I saw a young boy once in the house.
We found out that the father and son who had lived there before us had died in a plane crash. That is why the family had moved out.

^o) Someone watches too many scary movies. SELL THE HOUSE! YOUR DAUGHTER WILL BE POSSESSED AND YOU ARE A BAD MOM!
I'm more scared of a psycho hiding behind the shower curtain.

Me too! There's enough tangible shit that scares me. I can't possibly begin to get upset about the intangible. I'd die!

When I lived alone in the house XH and I bought together, I'd check behind the shower curtain every day when I got home from work. No lie.
I don't believe in the horror-movie type of ghosts, but I definitely think there are spirits in our world. My head would explode if someone posted about a ghost possessing their child too....
At the risk of sounding like a Looney tune…when I was very young, I recall seeing a lot of ghosts/spirits and do remember seeing some of the spirit manifests in people around me. I remember Indian man (In his 50's wearing American clothes) standing at the foot of my bed just intensely watching me often. He had that look and sense where you couldn't tell if he was angry or just intensely protective and it was quite frequent. I was often too tense to sleep well during those years. We also lived in the valley which was a huge battlefield. College is when I started no longer seeing them or sense them. So maybe it was puberty or something? Lol!

When I was a child, my dad's best friend's house was haunted by a family. We would find blonde hairs in the hair brushes when the humans living there were all dark haired. The cats would burst through a room with all fur standing on end. My dad's best friend was an exec at the local news paper, so he did some research about his property and a family died in a vicious car crash outside of the house. I will NEVER forget this but one day we were having a party at the house and we heard squealing tires and a car crash outside. Everyone ran out to see, and there was nothing there.
I also came into contact with the little boy on multiple occasions, whenever I would stay over in Lisa's room (Dad's BFF's daughter).

I am fascinated with this topic and didnt believe in it really, thought it was a bunch of attention needing people or dramatic people who shared these stories. But, then something happened and I am even more intrigued by this stuff. My son when he was about five was taken to my parents work so he could see where grandpa worked ( I was not there so I am sharing what my parents said happened). They went outside and showed the back of the business which backed up to a levy and a long stretch of just dirt land behind it. There was a lone tree out there far back on the other property. My son was apparently standing there just staring at the tree for the longest time. My parents asked him what he was looking at. He said there was a dead soul hanging from the tree. They looked at each other all surprised because there was nothing there. So they humoured him and asked him what the man was wearing. He said the man had long black hair, green sweatshirt, and black pants. They did not expect a real description so they kind of got freaked out and directed him to something else. Later, they found out from other employees that sometime in that past year, there had been a Hispanic male found hung from the tree. It was a Hispanic male with shoulder length back hair, green sweatshirt, and black pants. He had multiple Id's on him, so it was not known who he was at the time he was found. True Story, and it freaked me out when they told me. I thought they were fucking with me. Then when my son and I moved into a bigger house a couple years later, he would hear a man talking in the house (no one but my son and i lived there). He said the man talked funny (possible accent), and it only happened at night near his room. Soo, I have become more a believer now.
Yea, I have had experiences over the years at my parents house. My belief system is complex on this because I do believe spirits can remain on this plane, but I also believe in reincarnation.
We have an old asian lady in our house. She died here when the previous owners lived here. she hangs out in the foyer and staircase and landing. She was around a lot more when we first moved in and is not around as much or we just notice her anymore. There is a lot more to the story but i wont bore you...some of my kids friends wont come in the house anymore. My daughter just the other day said someone blows in her ear every time she takes a shower...and makes her radio louder. My first encounter was when i went to school in italy and our room would get ocassional vsits.
I'm not sure what I believe but I swear I sometimes feel my bed move as if someone is sitting on it. I also think I saw a blue light in my closet one night.
I have a psychic and she says that I have a ton of spirits around me including an angel which I think is the baby I lost mid term.
I do believe in spirits, and they say children could be more sensitive to it. When my friends son was about 2, she would hear him talking to someone in his bedroom when he was playing. She figured he had an imaginary friend until she asked him about it. He described an old man with curly white hair with a "stick" to walk with. This described her grandfather who walked witha cane and passed away several years before her son was born. The child never even saw a photo of his great grandpa.
I've had instances of my light turning on or off, water in my parents house turning itself on and other things. I always believed it was my fathers presence. Also, my grandmother is alive and 95 and suffers from dementia. She had was very sick with pneumonia and we didn't think she would recover...during this time I prayed and asked my dad ( deceased) to take her away from her suffering. A few weeks later, she was feeling better and asked me if I had seen my father--I figured it's the dementia...so I said 'no Nana, why?'. And her reply was "John(my father) came here and said to go with him. I asked her what she told him and she said "Nah". Clearly she was not ready. So yes, I do believe.
