I heard an NPR piece about 5 years ago on feeding cows candy. It made such an impact on me that I know exactly where I was driving when I heard it. (coming back from whole foods of all places)
I have a friend who began a business on this premise (food byproducts sold to feedlots). He's making a really good living, in rural Indiana. I guess this doesn't surprise me.
