If your kids drive with grandparents (or other relatives) several times a month or more, what car seat do you have in their cars? We have the Nextfit for both boys in my car but I would prefer not to spend that much.
We use the evenflo sureride DLX for the grandparents and travel. It's super easy to install and lightweight so my mom doesn't have trouble getting it in and out of her car. The only downside is to get it RF takes some practice.

My parents have an Evenflo. The straps on theirs are more challenging to tighten than a Britax so I wouldn't want to use it daily, but for the price/use it's fine. I'm sure they got it on sale at Costco at some point because they are always shopping there...
We have some evenflo dlx (the combination harness to booster one with surelatch connectors. It's a great grandparent seat. If they are generally capable, it's very easy to install correctly with minimal effort.
Grandparents and the sitter have the cosco scenara next. Works great, and CHEAP!! $35-40 at Walmart? It's light so we will borrow it back for air travel. A lot of traveling parents recommend it. We have Graco 4Evers in our cars.

Grandma has the same one and we do the same thing for air travel. DD only rides in it for 7 minutes to/from school and a rare trip to Target.
We had cosco scenera in some cars. But when they outgrew RFing, it wouldn't fit in my dad's truck because the seat was too shallow. So we had to put one of our radian's in it. Which just about killed me knowing a $$$ seat was being used so seldom, but it was the "cheap" option because we already owned it. The scenera went in DH's car for awhile. With 3 kids, we've had to rearrange several times as kids grew into different seats and certain combos just didn't work.
I also don't allow any grandparent to install seats without it being checked by DH or me. My dad especially has done some really really funky things with the straps while attempting in install and my mom can't get them anywhere near tight enough.
My mom has a Diono Radian RXT in her car, the same seat we have in both of our cars. We bought it for her, because he rides with her multiple times each week so I wanted to ensure his safety.

Evenflo Symphony in my parents b/c they have him 3x a week and would pick him up from my MIL. She has the Cosco Scenera. I've been pleased with both. My dad took the Evenflo and had it checked by a Tech and for that reason, DS is still RF cause he doesn't want to change it.
Will they be taking it in and out each time? Our Evenflo sureride is a bitch to install. We had one for three different cars all inspected by the police who do car seat inspections. Each time they took it out and redid it when we went and they struggled with it every time to get it tight enough. We replaced the one in my mom's car with a click tight kind, and it was so worth the cost to have a super tight and easy installation.
jena what kind of truck? My mom has one and I hadn't even thought of this issue.
Tundra. If it has full size back doors you're probably good. His has the small back doors that open backwards. Also depends on the seat, some say they can hang over a bit. The scenera specifically says that it can't hang over at all (or my model did).

My mom bought a clicktight marathon. Not cheap, but SO easy to install that she has not problem doing it. She takes DD usually once a week, so she wanted something that was quick and easy to install.
MIL needs a carseat, its a constant problem, but I have no clue what to get. Neither her or us wants to spend a lot, but she had trouble even installing a clicktight, so I'm at a loss.

I think so but I'm not positive.
I'm just trying to add things to our "things we will need when we move to Dallas" list.

Her truck has the small doors too! And I think it's a tundra...

Sorry. You'll need to read manuals online before you buy one. I measured the depth of the seat and walked around babies R us measuring car seat bottoms to check things out.

This is good to know. I've got time before it's an issue but am trying to prepare (mostly as a distraction waiting for DH to get an offer).
We have the Cosco Scenera Next in my parents car. It's easy to install and very lightweight. Once your baby can sit unsupported the seat can be installed as upright as you need so it can fit in very small cars. The only downside is that it's outgrown forward facing before it is rear facing because height of the slots the straps come out of. It should get most babies to 3 or 4 rear facing but it just depends on their size and when you plan on turning them forward facing.

Ease of installation is a top priority for me with car seats. The evenflo securekid dlx is far easier to install than the evenflo securekid lx. They have totally different installations. The dlx has surelatch connectors. You just attach each one to the lower anchor points and push the base of the seat towards the anchors. It ratchets itself. Very easy. The lx version is the regular latches that require you to kneel in the seat and pull. We have one of each. The lx in my moms car bc i install for her and she leaves it. The dlx for my inlaws bc they can't leave it installed.
