My mom is coming to visit tomorrow morning. I'm already an anxious wreck. She's already being a bitch about getting here. "I can't find directions, all it says is X." "That's accurate" (it's one highway exit and three turns btw) "maybe if you've driven it 100 times." No. It's accurate no matter how many times you've driven. That's why it's called a map.
Oh geez, hamster, why don't you just pick her up? I'm kidding, of course! Nothing like her adding stress on to your visit when she's supposed to be coming out to cheer you up!
I'm really annoyed at my husband. This is MM-related. I texted him about possible dates to go to Oregon to see my sisters graduate this summer, and to make sure he had enough PTO. He responded that he "has that time off" so I assumed he has enough PTO, and took the days off, so I bought plane tickets. I got one ticket for under $500 and used credit card points/mileage for the other, so basically, two tickets for under $500. SCORE! I then texted him back the dates to let him know I got tickets and he got all panicky that this was the first he had heard of the dates and that he hadn't taken time off yet. He then checked with his boss and he can't get those dates off due to two work events, but this is also the first he has heard about those two events. I told him to scroll back through our conversation so he could see how I misunderstood him (or how he hadn't communicated clearly). Basically, I think he was not very engaged in our conversation since he's understandably not excited about spending a week of vacation with my drama filled family, but still, dude, you led me to believe it was all good so I bought tickets that will now cost money to change!

I'm sorry hamster, that sounds miserable. In somewhat similar news, my mom invited herself to go with me to Cincinnati. Why? Because she's never been to Ohio. Umm ok. It will be 10 hours in the car with her each way. She's never, ever quiet, she even talks in her sleep. And she expects active participation in the car, no sleeping, and she can't be trusted to navigate. I wish driving with an open container wasn't illegal, oh and a terrible idea.
I'm on a business trip and got left behind at the office at lunchtime and I have no rental car so I am just kind of stuck here. And I'm hungry. This sucks. I just ate two Altoids but that didn't seem to cut it especially since all I had for breakfast was a protein bar because breakfast at the hotel sucks. I hate traveling for work and want to go home but one more night on the road and then tomorrow night my flight lands home at midnight!

LOL. That sounds awful. Mine will probably leave after an hour or two at least.
@bellakitty , if you bought one / both of them in the past 24 hours you can usually cancel for a full refund with no penalty. Not sure when you bought the tickets but wanted to mention this in case it was recently. I'm pretty sure this applies to award tickets as well.
Nope, I bought them on Friday and then yesterday he casually said, "so those dates aren't gonna work." I was LIVID.
Wow, followyourarrow, Ohio is so much fun! What a tourist destination! We have to drive through Ohio to get pretty much anywhere from MI, so we have definitely seen the sights of that lovely, lovely state. That's more sarcasm, in case that isn't clear in writing.

There's a 20% chance of more snow (Stellaaaaaaaa!) tomorrow AM, and my wimpy NJ elementary school is at least going to have a 90 min delay. They call for weather at the slightest inconvenience. DH is OOT and I need my damn kids to go to school.
Also - we have a Roku for our TV (no cable) and the ILs just said that we can use their AT&T Uverse login to watch HGTV and ESPN or whatever we need. This is gonna make my year.
I have a terrible cold. Again. This is like my 4th or 5th cold this year. Dang you BB and your daycare germs. (Actually, MH brought this cold home from work.)

I won fourth row tickets to see my favorite band in October. I've already got sixth row tickets so I am selling them at face value to my friends who didn't get tickets and I'm paying back everyone who bought the original tickets and giving them the free tickets. I'm still in shock because I never win anything that I really want. I will actually believe it when I am holding the tickets in my hands!
I have a hot rash/burning hives. No fever, but it feels like itchy fire. No idea what is causing it, other than crazy pollen counts here. Same soap/detergents/shampoo..no new clothing, nothing really weird that we ate over the weekend.
It started a little on Sunday at 3am, not too terrible until noon yesterday. I had Mr. P bring home Benadryl started it then. Still miserable today. Should I go to the doc in the morning or just keep dosing with Benadryl?

This is unpleasant as fvck.
I'm sorry. That sucks. I'd go to the dr, since Benadryl isn't helping. They may nut be able to identify the culprit, but may be able to prescribe steroids.
I just thought of something, is it one place it all over? Wonder if it could be Shingles

Go to your doctor. Shingles is going around my office. It sounds like that could be it. Hugs and good luck.

Life in a nutshell: IRS, tax season, and certain coworkers are driving me crazy. One of them is trying to get himself fired or compete for big PITA. Some other coworkers are awesome. Any day I'm not working more than 12 hours in the office is "relaxing". Fiance and pup are still wonderful. I've barely had any time to think about wedding stuff, much less do anything about it.
At least it was pi(e) day and I brought pies into the office. Sadly working these hours broke my pie baking tradition, so they were just from the grocery store. But pie is better than no pie.
Pom, that sounds miserable! I hope it clears up soon!
milsaroo, it was American Airlines. How did you score your Paris tickets for so cheap? Also, good luck with your job search. I hope you find whatever it is that will make you happy and fulfilled. I know it's a long journey to find it, and to be offered a job doing it, whatever "it" is!

Pom drinking enough tequila will make you forget that you itch...but in all seriousness I hope you find some relief soon.
In my MM score of the day. I had to get release form notarized for my concert tickets and because I had to wait so long at AAA they waived the fee! Yay!!
I found out today that my application was accepted for a possible internal promotion. I'll now get the opportunity to write an exam in order to qualify for an interview. Yay, government jobs! It's exciting though because it's been awhile since there was anything I was even interested in applying for, and it would be a nice raise too.
The ER doc didn't mention shingles, so I don't think that's my issue. It's definitely like hives/rash that has spread everywhere but my legs and face. It's a reaction, but no idea to what. He gave me a steroid shot and 5 days of steroid oral meds. I came home and started to itch again and took a shower. It's hanging on. I finally slept a couple of hours and then woke up soaked with night sweats. What fun. I had this once before right after Hurricane Rita when we lived in the path. The only difference was that I had throat swelling that time and thought I had been stung (bee allergy). I remember having a rash on my legs for weeks.

Pom, I'm sorry, that sound so awful. If the meds don't work soon I'd go to your PCP. It does sound a lot like shingles. The ER dr may not have mentioned that because shingles have typically been an issue with the elderly, although more and more people our age having them and they're frequently brought on by stress.

I know shingles are busy evil attacking everyone. I made an appointment with my doc for Friday morning. Follow up for sure if not kicking it. Thanks for all the good thoughts.

Pom, that sounds awful. I hope it subsides quickly. hamster, Godspeed today.
My side business has been kicking ass, but that means that the days of receiving a tax refund are over. I'm aware of this, and set aside the money all year so it's not a surprise to me (or really, an oop expense from our joint account.) DH is eternally surprised when we owe, despite my explanation of this Every. Damn. Year. ::head desk::
I'm seriously on the verge of an anxiety attack. I'm trying to convince myself that I'm worrying for nothing and over reacting, but it's not working. Y'all tried to tell me that last time she came and then when I updated it was a lot of "Oh dear"s.
Plus I have to figure out where to hide my pain pills....which is just a fucking stupid problem to have.
irene adler, I'm in a similar tax predicament since my freelance stuff is on a 1099, and my husband did quite a bit of work for them last year too. I saved for this tax bill, but not quite enough! March is really shaping up to be a lean month. I also wont get paid at all in March until the end of the month, since I just started a new job on the 6th.

I need alcohol.
I'm so sorry Hamster. Can you call her and cancel? Maybe lie and say you have a cold?
JFC. She forgot her directions. Nevermind that her boyfriend put the address in her phone yesterday.
Breathe, hamster. Just breathe.
Sadly followyourarrow I don't feel like I can cancel. She hasn't been to the house in two years, so it's not like I have to put up with this often (by design).
She turned left instead of right and called and asked what to do. I told her to turn around, because duh. She said it was one way. You guys, it's a two lane road with yellow lines and a turn lane. SO she asks for directions, and then hangs up and yells when I call back because she's driving. So i tell her "cross the river and turn right at the light." "i see a light. go straight?" "NO. TURN RIGHT." "I told you I'm bad with directions." BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT FUCKING LISTENING.
