I am posting this pretty much everywhere because I badly want to help this family. Admins, feel free to delete if not appropriate.
Beautiful Soles is a charity started by my friend that I have been helping with to care for homeless families in our area, and out of all of them, this is a unique situation. This is one of my friend Demetria's personal friends who was affected by an automobile accident last month that killed her 10 year old daughter, Amiyah, and 2 year old niece, Yesterday, and seriously injured her two sons. They are being released from Harborview Medical Center tomorrow. As a result of the accident, Melissa has not been able to work; she lost her housing and has nowhere to go. Demetria will be housing them at Best Western Navigator Inn and Suites as long as possible, until she can figure out other arrangements. Right now it's out of Demetria's pocket unless and until we get money to help them. Demetria is not well off (she works full time as a manager at a labor agency and has four kids of her own) so this will be out of reach for her financially after their first night or two. Beautiful Soles is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides shoes...and now housing, coordinating care, and whatever needs she can, for homeless families in the Everett area. It started when her young son saw a child with tattered shoes and wanted to give him a pair of his shoes since he had extras. It has grown from there to provide shoes and socks for many homeless children and adults, and is growing by leaps and bounds to help these families in as many ways as possible. Out of all these stories, Melissa's is unique. I will be helping her, as much as I can with the other families in need. You can help house this family by donating via Paypal to beautifulsoles@outlook.com or going to her website at www.beautifulsoles.org You can specify "Melissa" and all help will be directed to her. (Demetria uses PayPal to avoid the higher GoFundMe fees.) Any help, big or small, would be appreciated.
(To alleviate fears of cat-fishing, there are a few on this board who can personally vouch for me, that I'm a real person; a few are FB friends and I've met several irl who will hopefully say I'm not the type to do that sort of thing.)
I can vouch for this organization too, it's local to me and one I give to regularly. I just saw this posted on Facebook by Beautiful Soles, and my husband saw the awful aftermath of the accident.
Is donating via the website (www.beautifulsoles.org) ok? I'd rather do that than paypal, because then I can have my company match the donation since they're a 501c3.

What a wonderful idea. Thank you for thinking of this. It looks like you should be able to do this by going through the site. It's isn't passing me through to PayPal so it should work. I can confirm with Demetria.
Vouching for WOT?* - she's real and loves to help people!
This is local to me - I'll check to see how much we can donate.
Picks and 7costanza and anyone else local - if you have items you would like to donate (food, clothing, toiletries, hygiene, etc.), I can pick them up and drop them off at the hotel. (I'm doing so for Mom and Little Guy today as well, and the girls and I are hanging out with the J family at the shelter tonight for a bit.) It's apparently become a very expensive job for me. I need a paying gig to pay for my non-paying one. Lol.

How old is Little Guy? I might have clothes we can donate if he's under 3. I'll be out and about Saturday morning - maybe we can meet up and I can give you some stuff.

He's 16 months and in an 18 month. She was given a couple 2T sleepers but they're too big so she's hesitant to use them. I'm not sure she realizes he'll be in 24 month/2T and out of 18 month as soon as he will be. Lol. There's info on the MC Community FB page as well as the Beautiful Soles and Demetria's personal FB pages.

Oh yeah - we have stuff that B is outgrowing at a rapid pace (he just shot up), so I have some jammies and t-shirts, pants, socks... I'll see if I can round some of it up today (I'll have DH do it since he's home), and we can meet up tomorrow.
