Question for social workers

I had to report child abuse at a day care center ... I called Department of human services to report the individual and then Dept of Health to report the actual center. Is this a criminal thing that I should report to the police as well? Several people have suggested that I do that also.

The child is no longer at the daycare.

Also, I will DD this later.

ETA: I have to post and run but I will check in later tonight. I want to get this over with if I do need to call the police. Just want to do the right thing here.

Did human services say they would be making a report to the police or no? Do you think it was a criminal offense? If so, I'd probably tell you to report it just to cover all your bases.

Human services didn't say, they just took the report and then they pass it on for investigation to the county

I would prob file a report just to be on the safe side. Not sure they would take it though if you didn't witness it. I would be sure to tell them who you already contacted.
