I have an expedit unit that we use as a changing table/dresser and we have four of these. The one that is most often pulled out holds diapers - after basically daily use for three years it is still in great shape. Keep in mind though that that is daily use by an adult...I can't speak to regular use by children.
I don't have those, but I got the transparent hard plastic ones (with square holes on 2 ends) and they seem really fragile. The bottoms are removable too, so if they try to dump the toys out the bottom falls out. Basically I'm just waiting for them to break, so probably don't get those, lol
Target sells (or has sold in the past--I last bought these 2-3 years ago) woven wicker baskets about this size that have held up extremely well to my children.

I was looking at those too ... I will avoid them!
What we have now (because we have the old expedit in the basement) are the canvas & grommet bins from Bed Bath & Beyond. They are durable but aren't the right size, so we waste a lot of storage space. Save

that would probably also look a little nicer in the family room.
I have white ones. We use them to store shoes. So I'd say they're pretty durable but toddlers also are pretty destructive. Because t they're cheap and easy enough to replace. Daycare uses them too.
This is a good point. And it gives me yet another excuse to go to IKEA... Too bad I have to drive almost 3 hrs to get there Save
DS has them in orange- they hold a ton of crap and have held up well for several years. And so cheap! Target has some decent similar boxes that change color/style all the time- DD has those in her Expedit and I have similar praise for them, if that helps.
I have them and I think they're pretty good for the price. They won't last forever but the worst we've had is some bends in the cardboard from pulling them out all the time. But mostly they still look decent
I have them. When our littlest niece and nephew lived by us, we stored their toys in them. Now I use them for general storage of like board games, my coloring supplies, electronics, etc.
My only complaint is that they seem to cling cat hair! The vacuum doesn't get enough of the hair off, I have to use a lint roller.
I think the target version is small. 12" compared to 14 or 16 in the ikea one
They have two lines- one is 11" and one is 13" (which match the Drona [and Expedit under a new name] perfectly). They come in a ton of different patterns and colors, and change them up frequently- but, they're more expensive (twice the price when they're not on sale). The ones we have in DD's room definitely have a more fur resistant texture than the Ikea ones in DS's room- that's a good point, that Ikea fabric is a magnet for fuzz.
I have these exact ones above and below our coat rack. We store our shoes in the bottom one. We don't wear shoes in the house so we open and close each one countless times per day. We have had them with a lot of daily use for about a year and a half and all have held up great.

We have the Drona bins. 4.5 years in and some of the most used ones are a bit bent just on the one top, but I just flipped them to the other side so I figure that buys us another few years. This has only happened with the bins that my kids pull out multiple times every single day and don't always put away (so I'm sure my toddlers have climbed in and out of them a lot!). We have probably 20 of them total and maybe 5 that are pulled out over and over throughout the day.

I have the cream ones and they're definitely a little bent up from kids jamming them in and pulling them out. I have wicker ones in our nursery and they're far more durable.

This is good to know for when I need to replace these stupid plastic ones

We have the teal ones that they sold a few years ago for our play room. The only one that seems to have damage is the one that holds some books and my son tried to shove them in in a way that kinda expanded the sides and bent it a bit.
Otherwise, a few years later, they are in perfect condition.
