Ok....I did say that I wasn't going to date for a year....it's been a bit over five months since I started that....and life has become much more fun since I moved and started at the University.
I ran into a guy that:
A. I knew years ago and was pretty good friends with, then my ExH was not cool with me being friends with him, and he moved away.....so we lost touch. I haven't seen or talked to him in three years and I thought that he was no longer in the area.
B. I had a crush on him BEFORE my Ex and I were dating seriously, but at the time, he was engaged to someone else. Then he broke the engagement and by that time, I was married and all over my ExH.
Well, he ran into me.
I was walking toward class after lunch, and I heard a "Hey! How are YOU?" from behind me. I spun around and there this guy stood. I didn't recognize him at first, because he looks much different from what I'd remembered. Then, I was like "Oh. My. Gosh. Long time, no see."
He asked about how my daughter was doing, then about my ExH. I explained that my ExH and I had split over two years ago, and he said that was too bad. We talked about some other stuff, school mostly. He is a grad student and TA at my University, which I was glad to hear, because finishing a Phd was one of his goals that he discussed with me back in the day.
So, he said: Well, since we're both here....I'll give you my number and maybe we can meet for lunch or coffee soon. I accepted his number and we both went on our way to our respective classes.
A few hours later....I was sitting in the library in one of the comfy chairs, reading. Then I saw someone walk over straight toward me from over the top of the book, so I looked up. It was him. He said "Wow! I keep running into you. What are you up to?" I said that I was reading, and he talked about how he was looking for the books that he needed for his studies, but that some of them would need be obtained from other libraries...so much work that he might as well buy them or something. hehe.
This was the LAST person that I'd expected to run into, to be honest....and he definitely sounds happy to see me.

He already mentioned wanting lunch or coffee. I've always thought that he was a cool person, and three years is a long, long time. Catching up is in order.
I'll just call him later this morning.
I ran into him while walking back from a part of campus that almost never go to. Ever.
As others have said : What are the chances? I'm still incredibly stunned.
