Always.
We lost FIL when they were out of the country. Travel insurance covered everything - from revised flights to medical, funeral home and translators. Obviously worse case scenario, but we are forever thankful they always bought travel insurance.

Oh my gosh...how awful! I'm so sorry.
I think about that kind of stuff..."what if?" I don't want my kids to have to deal with their ol' ma kicking the bucket while I'm out of country.

I hate to bring up such a heavy thing - but I shudder to think what MIL's expenses would have been otherwise. It helped us so much - they made her and his return travel arrangements which would have been very difficult as the phone communication was very poor between us and her. At one point we had a bad flight # and thought she was stuck in Puerto Rico. I'll also add, the tourism ministry called and checked on her daily at the hotel until she could get a flight back home a few days later. They were angels on earth.
