I know it's early in the day to start drinking, but dude, I was ready to call it quits this morning at 7am. (I spent the night either awake or sleeping on the floor of my office due to our dog being postsurgical and completely stressed).
Soooo, throw in some whines and (if you're a drinker) recommend a wine you've had recently and liked.
My whine is above. Dude, I am operating on 4.5 hours sleep max. 2 of which was ON THE FLOOR. I'm too old for this shiz.
Wine rec: Someone bought us a bottle of '08 Dry Creek Cab for some event (anniversary, housewarming, random?) and it was delicious. tinyurl.com/8fpffet
I don't know exactly what wines we've had that I've liked off the top of my head. I actually have a "wine journal" I bought at World Market, and I try to put info in there when I remember. I can revisit this post when I get home and let you know:) Some of my go-to's are Columbia Crest Two Vines Cabernet (2006 was their best year), Robert Modavi Cabernet, and Barefoot Cab when I'm feeling really cheap.
LOL. This is one of the reasons we still DON'T have kids. I am completely a mess if I've had less than 8 hours of sleep and really function better with 10.
I don't have a whine this morning, other than that I really wish I had a sub job today. I figured out how many days I need to work this month to make last year's half-time teacher paycheck and I am behind on the minimum.
Recommended wine: 14 Hands White Blend. It's a Washington wine and has horses on the label. I'll google search an image because it's worth seeking out.
I'm ready for wine! I bought a new chandelier for my dining room and after several hours of my father and i fighting with it last night, it still isn't up.
A couple of reds I've been enjoying recently have been Predator (it has a ladybug on the label) and Apothic.
Rubes has been sick for a week. I've debated taking her to the dr. but really it's just a baby cold that develops one symptom at a time. Tylenol and Vick's work and I feel like if I drag her in to the dr. they'll tell me the same thing. I called the pedi this morning to double check and he said, "If she halfway plays, drinks and her fever goes down with Tylenol I can't do much either." We're snuggled on the couch right now watching Elmo's World. She's half fine..but the rest of the day she's so overtired she doesn't know what to do with herself. I feel horrible for her and I'm frustrated!
My favorite wine is something called the Wine-ing Farmer! (They have a whole line the Wine-ing Farmer's Wife, Daughter etc.) Pretty great! It's a local thing though.

I'm feeling lost in general. I need to do something really fun but I'm too exhausted and down lately. I NEVER nap, but I'm in bed right now because I felt like I was going to fall asleep at my desk. Joys of being PG.
For wine I've been buying DH Frontera Malbec. We are on a budget and it's pretty good for $8 a big bottle.
mrs.jac....you gonna be drunk posting later with all this wine talk?
Ohhh, I hope so. DH is bringing home sushi tonight, I've cancelled my open water swim practice for this evening ... and I've got to get through another night of the dog stress-panting. I'm going to need it, I think.

We converted the girls cribs this weekend (thanks in part to the post on here, LOL) and now my super good sleepers are sleeping like crap. We ditched their sleep sacks at the same time, and now one keeps waking up screaming at 1:30ish in the morning wanting her sleep sack, and the other one wakes up at 4:30ish and goes over and asks her sleeping sister what she's doing. I'm sure they'll get the hang of it soon, sigh.
I'm super classy and usually buy the Target pinot grigio in a box and then put ice in it because I like it screaming cold when it's hot down here, which is approximately 10 months out of the year. But I won't say no to a nice Malbec (and I don't put ice in that, LOL).
