I love that pic. I'll see your 1936 and raise you a 1927 (ddh's great aunt and uncle. I also have the set of china her mother gave her for a wedding gift.) I want to take a reflection-free photo of it but I'm afraid to take it out of the frame.

My picture isn't that old, but here are my parents when they announced their engagement in 1959. They were married in 1960 and celebrated their 57th anniversary this past Sunday.
Based on my rough knowledge of the family's history it was probably right around 1930, but was taken in rural Hungary, so the quality isn't nearly as good as flex's pics.
My grandfather was born in 1931. He's the oldest. My great grandmother was OLD for a new bride in that time, probably at least 25. Her younger sister was already married, had kids, and had moved to the US before my spinster of a great grandmother finally found a husband. So I imagine they wasted no time having the kids.
Grampa was 6 when they came to the US to visit the family that was already here, and to maybe look for a place to live, should they want to move. By the time they reached NYC, there was a telegram waiting that said, "Don't come back. Nazis have invaded." The sender of that telegram died at Auschwitz. It turned out they were on one of the very last passenger ships that left the Italian ports before the Nazis closed them all.
Here's a picture of my grandparents with some of my aunts and uncles. They had nine children total. This was probably 1953, so my grandmother would have been pregnant with my aunt Becky. Grandma later had my uncle Jeff in 1957.
(My mom is the one to the left of my grandma)
The picture at the bottom is the entire family. : )
