What's on the radar for summer? I am trying to minimize kid activities, but I'm failing. Dd1 has vbs, one week of summer camp, soccer and tennis. Dd2 has vbs and swim. Dd3 is tagging along to vbs. Add a vacation and suddenly summer seems so short!
Disney World and one week of soccer camp. 6 week hip hop class. Maybe swim lessons. Otherwise just lots of play dates and pool trips. I'm looking forward to 10 weeks of no real schedule!

Hey sneaky! Congrats to you! 3 is chaos, but fun! You'll enjoy snuggling when the other 2 are at school.
Thank You! I'm not a huge fan of the baby phase, but am excited for another person. I'll be 12 weeks the last week of school so hoping I am feeling better then.

In July I think they are each doing a week of a camp (bball and gymnastics) and an 11-day vacation to my bestie's house. In August we keep busy. They have 3 weeks of swim lessons in the morning and then sports at night- football practice 10 hours a week and cheer practice 3 nights a week. Plus I have to move my classroom to another school...it is going to fly by I am afraid!

DD is taking swim lessons and a little mini dance session.
DS and I are doing a baby and me swim class.
We're going on a long road trip this summer back to NY and I'm soooo excited! We're stopping along the way to see friends and then rented an air b&b on Long Island.
I got into the Summer Only Masters program I applied to. It starts tomorrow. 😳 Dd will continue Karate and will do swim lessons. She will get a few weeks at camp while I am in my program and while I attend a few trainings. We plan to frequent the beach and the zoo. Dd also made a neighborhood friend so we are looking forward to relaxing days at home too. DS isn't in any activities yet so he just gets to come along for the ride!
We are also going to Utah at the end of summer. DH is doing the Spartan Trifecta this year and we are making a vacation out of his middle race. We are hoping to visit family in Montana too since we will be so close.
I've got DS1 at a great all day camp (that even has hot lunch!) for 4 weeks. Then he has one week at a camp where they are out in the wilderness with organic farming and one overnight. DS2 will be doing a few mom and tot classes. Both kids have swim lessons daily for six weeks of the summer.
We will spend one week at my family's condo in Lake Tahoe and visit the inlaws for 5 days in Colorado. We are also hosting my sister's family from the East Coast for a week in July.
A couple girlfriends and I are trying to find time for a girls weekend in Portland. I think it will happen but coordinating schedules has been difficult. If it falls through DH and I will do a night away since my parents have already agreed to take the kids for a weekend.
The kids are out of school June 8--yippeee! I'm ready for summer break. And summer weather. It's been cold here all weekend.
Still worried about getting overbooked in summer as they get older and activities are more intense, but so far everything is still very low-key. We have T-ball for DS on Monday & Wednesday evenings in June. All four kids will do rec dept gymnastics on Tuesdays from mid-June until end of July. I think we are also going to do a short course of swim for DS and DD1. They are finally making progress and I'd like to keep them on a roll. DD1 will also do Girl Scout day camp for a week. The last thing I'm debating about, but leaning towards probably not, is signing DD1 up for a week of theater day camp.
We are trying to get up to our cottage as much as we can, roughly every-other weekend plus a week or so over the Fourth. We also have a week of family vacation with my side of the family at a resort. That's the only time the kids usually get to see their 2 cousins from AL, so that's really neat. Plus a long weekend at my parents' house that the kids just love. We go when they have a local festival and they love going to the parade, the pool there, the park that's a short walk from the house, etc. It's a great town for family activities. They talk about moving here, and my DD1 keeps complaining that she doesn't want them to move closer b/c she likes to go visit their house! Oh, and, we're finally supposed to do our little Chicago getaway that we postponed from December when it would have been a total nightmare with sick kids and horrible weather and trying to push a stroller through snow.
We also have a little garden so that's fun to work on during the summer. And I am hoping/planning to finally get in gear and start getting back in shape with a lot more walking and maybe some jogging or swimming. I already feel like summer's too short. The kids go back to school about a week early this year but will get out earlier than usual next year due to construction projects at the school. Still, looking forward to hot days and picnics and lakes and sprinklers and cookouts!

gastro - If you need Portland rec for your girls' weekend, let me know.
We're spending most of July in Vancouver, BC. DD will go to her favorite art camp for a week in August, and I'm looking at a camp at DS' preschool for that same week. We'll do a round of swim lessons for each, and then just lots of lazy days with friends.
Congrats KC! Hopefully you feel better soon. mamaalysson I'm so envious of you, I love Vancouver! My FIL lives on the island, a little piece of paradise. We don't get out till June 28. It still seems like forever. I want to take the kids camping. A week of swimming lessons. A few day trips here and there. Nothing extravagant.
