I have reusable shopping bags. DD on the other hand has a couple movies for long car rides, her Sofia the First umbrella and a pack of Paw Patrol tissues. Ya know, the necessities for a 4 y.o. I prefer to have nothing in my car. It drives me crazy. DH gets annoyed when I'm all "hey! I clean out your car or truck today" because he knows that means all he has left is his insurance and registration cards.

In addition to many of the things already mentioned, I keep empty laundry baskets to carry in groceries and in the summer a bag with a swimsuit, a change of clothes and a sweatshirt for each kid for spontaneous fun.
Ice scraper in the door Umbrella in the back seat Hair tie, 2 bobby pins, fingernail clippers, nail file, and a phone charger in the center console A million Clorox wipes in the glove box and 1 tub of Clorox wipes in the cup holder A trash can that sits in the floor of the back seat, directly behind the center console
Why do you need so much Clorox? What are you doing in there? lol
I'm a pretty severe germaphobe and wipe down just about everything. In all reality it's probably 2-3 to-go packages of wipes and 1-2 tubs that fit in the cup holders. I grab a to-go pack of wipes when we go out to eat or something to wipe my hands and the tubs I just use randomly like to clean off my phone, my debit card, around the inside of my car, etc.

I just got a new car and got mad at my husband when he wanted to put hand sanitizer and Kleenex in it lol. But I know there are a few things we'll need to keep in there like a scraper in the winter, an emergency kit, windshield sun shade, a little wiping cloth for the touch screen, reusable shopping bags, cable, an extra dog leash and bowl, dog poop bags, and sunscreen. I might get a little organizer to put in the back to hold stuff.
The items in my car don't change by the season. In my trunk (which I basically never use), I have an emergency kit my dad put together for me when I left for college that includes road flares, a small shovel, a jack, and a high powered flashlight (there's probably more in there, but I don't remember what). I also have an old pair of snowboots in my trunk. Elsewhere, I have two umbrellas that are in varying degrees of broken, an emergency air pump for my tires, a random selection of CDs (yes, CDs, because my car doesn't have a way to easily plug in an iPod, phone, or MP3), phone charger, breath mints, and two pairs of black handbell gloves.

Lots of stuff (it's a pickup): a long ice scraper, a broom, a pair of extra boots, 2 blankets, 2 small umbrellas, a current AA meeting schedule, an extra pair of prescription glasses, a jar of earplugs (I wear plugs when flying), a bunch of coins for downtown parking or coffee kiosk tips, an emergency roadside service bag which has jumper cables, a flare, etc., and a flashlight which is under my front seat.
ETA: and several recyclable bags for grocery shopping.

There is first aid kit, extra window shield wipers, basic car repair tools, a small gas can, and an umbrella in the compartment with the spare tire. Roll of paper towels and trash bag up in front near the kids.
Minimal: two foldable car boxes for the trunk with reusable grocery bags, a rain coat and two umbrellas. In the car: car documents, sunglasses, a small bottle of water, a phone charger and an I-touch with my music.
The security kit, fire extinguisher and yellow jacket (in case of accidents) came with the car and have special compartments.

I keep jumper cables, an emergency kit, blanket, reusable grocery bags, and a bag to hold just a few in the trunk. I also keep napkins, a plastic bag, a brush, one of those window breaking things, and an umbrella in the center console.

I have a tub in the bed of my truck (next to my sandbags*) that has tools (screwdrivers, a hammer, a knife), a first aid kit, a blanket, beach towels for wet accidents, some small trash bags, jumper cables, long reach ice scraper and snow clearing device, etc.. I also have a puke bucket and a roll of paper towels in the floor of the back seat and a razor blade/window tool in the glove box with my insurance card/registration and kleenexes.
*Sandbags are for winter weather and I'm too lazy to move them.
