ari melber (on maddow just now) said taht Rosenstein will likely have to recuse himself (b/c he's a witness to comey's firing) & will no longer be in charge of Mueller.
SO.....if Trump wanted to fire mueller, he's gave to go through Dana Boente
Next in line after Rosenstein is a recently appointed person named Rachel Brand.

Wouldn't Dana be a witness? Comey said last week he reached out to Dana and never heard back.
curbsideprophet The GOP is playing the game of "I only believe my eyeballs so if I haven't seen it, and you haven't seen it, it doesn't exist." And they know no investigator can comment on an open investigation. Schiff can comment in vague terms (and has) but the classification level also impedes sharing specifics.
I still don't think there will be evidence of Trump directly colluding with Russia. His campaign did, but not him personally. He was complicit though. In normal times that would be enough to force a President to resign. I think him knowing about the pending RICO case in NY is going to keep him clinging to the office. It's his greatest protection.
One of the things that is making me roll me eyes is the GOP (or gingrich et al at least) argument that Mueller and comey are so close, and that they worked together, and that Mueller respects comey a great deal.
YOU KNEW ALL THAT WHEN HE WAS APPOINTED. the only thing that has changed since then is that now you think he may actually find something.
It's kind of like West Wing, when CJ spins it so that the House opens an investigation, because the special prosecutor was taking too long and was being too fair and thorough. the White house doesn't want a fair and thorough investigation.
I understand this investigation can, and probably will, take years, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared of the damage Trump and his crew will do to America until the findings are made.

For sure. And it's the damage they *have already done* (e.g., incitement of violence esp. against minority groups, fanning the flames of partisanship), are currently doing (AHCA, environmental destruction) as well as the damage that they will do while we wait that frightens me. But I don't see that we have much choice.
