There are a few otterboxes available now. There are a couple ok colors. I ordered my 5 already so I'm going to order an otterbox today so it's here in time for my phone to arrive.
I really like my Otterbox case, I have the Commuter Series which is a little less beefy than the Defender series...Mine is for the iPhone 4s though, so I'm not sure what's available for the 5 just yet?

I dislike the OtterBox. We had an iPhone 4 shatter in one. The plastic at the top near the ear piece pushed in and shattered the phone. It fell about 3 feet on linoleum like floor in a portable building. Ah!
Anyhoo, I can't wait to see what the cases look like.
Someone told me that you need to get all new adapters for the 5. I haven't really looked into it, but if true, that's annoying. We have a million cords now and I don't want to have to replace them.
ash- i have been an android user for the last 2 years and i am finally making the jump because the iphone 5 is on the 4G LTE network and the iphone 4 was not.
They had the otterbox defender available with the purchase of the iphone 5 but I didn't get it because I thought it was really bulky.
Both DH and I have Otterbox's. I have the Reflex series, he has a Commuter. I've dropped my phone a few times and it's been fine.
To the post above- I think w/ ANY phone/case - there is always going to be a chance something can go wrong. It's still a phone that can still be broken - no matter how great the case is.
h and i both have the otterbox. he drops his phone a lot and zero damage. he did get the inside shell replaced (free) b/c that broke after it fell from the seat of his truck onto concrete, but the phone didn't have a scratch.
If they use these new chargers for as long as they used the old ones, I'm oky with the upgrade. And I think they're selling adapters so your current chargers won't be totally useless. I don't know. If I was going to upgrade to a different brand, I'd have to get all new stuff anyways!
I covered my iPhone in Wrapsol Ultra Drop Protection Film and then bought a cute Gelaskins hard case to put over it. I've seen YouTube videos showing people towing a phone covered in Wrapsol behind a motorcycle without damaging the phone at all. I drop mine all the time...I have a toddler, so it takes quite a beating and is still in great shape!

I definitely agree with you.
I just wanted to point out that the OtterBox isn't indestructible like some people naively think.
Good suggestion! I love my iPhone and can't wait to get the iPhone 5. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. I've used the hell out of my iPhone. I don't even know which one it is. It's an older 8GB model, but I've definitely got my money's worth which is why I know I will shell out the cash for the new one.
