About the group we had on TB, was the presumed competence. I've noticed in recent years that in many groups, including our Facebook group, new cloth diapering moms are treated almost like they know nothing about doing laundry.....and the new to cloth diapering moms act like they know nothing about doing laundry.
When did inexperience with diaper washing come to mean incompetence with doing laundry as a whole? I miss the days when the first question for troubleshooting was "What have you tried?"

I feel like a lot of that is in the way questions are phrased. It's like when a lot of new people post for the first time, they've already been spending time over at FL and they phrase their questions as if they're expecting to be talked down to in the same way that is done over at FL.
I saw one post (not on Facebook) where lady A mentioned in passing that she does a rinse and spin for a pre-wash and has had yeast once in the month that she's been cloth diapering and lady B came in and started almost demanding that A change it to a full wash with detergent for the pre-wash since lady B got ammonia from doing just a rinse/spin and obviously a rinse/spin isn't enough for lady A if A's little one has already had yeast.
Lady A's initial question was being confused about FL instructions to not do any extra post wash rinses.
Posts like that feed this idea that new to cd moms are incompetent to handle cd laundry.
