I have an upcoming flight on AA and am nervous about the seat situation again. Last year I flew United and posted on here and you all told me it would be fine. It was; I did ask for a seat belt extender, but otherwise, it was no big deal.
I have no flown American and this part of their policy has me just a bit worried. I sent them a question but am waiting to hear back. " If a customer’s body extends more than 1 inch beyond the outermost edge of the armrest and a seat belt extension is needed, another seat is required."
Because of the word "and" I'm assuming both would have to be the case in order to need to buy a second seat? If you can fit in the seat, I don't see why you would need to purchase a second one just because you use one seat belt extender.
While I nervously wait to hear back, is there anyone who has flown AA and needed a seat belt extender and it was fine? This is already an embarrassing situation and it is making it even more stressful worrying about whether or not they will make me get a second seat.
