Expect Trump to be extra crazy today...
ABOUT LAST NIGHT ... -- @ryanlizza: "Scoop: Trump is dining tonight w/Sean Hannity, Bill Shine (former Fox News executive), & Anthony Scaramucci, per 2 knowledgeable sources".
You know that feeling when you wake up after a particularly drunken night and you think you may have missed Armageddon? You feel sick to your stomach, what insane shit did you miss while you were passed out...that's how it is waking up in the cesspool of this administration.
When Kushner and lawmakers emerged from the meeting, Democrats said Gowdy ran interference on behalf of Kushner during the questioning. Gowdy is also chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, a key watchdog role over the Trump administration.
Gowdy played a different role during the Obama administration. As chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi, he oversaw 11 hours of questioning of Hillary Clinton in October 2015 that Democrats said was motivated by partisan politics. The panel was examining the administration’s response to the 2012 attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya.
So I guess this sets the stage for why Trump is going to veto the sanctions bill ... and why Congress will just shrug its shoulders and let it slide (safety!!! Murica!!!)
Putin: We'll have to retaliate against 'illegal' U.S. sanctions
(Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Russia would be forced to retaliate if Washington pressed ahead with what he called illegal new sanctions against Moscow, describing U.S. conduct towards his country as boorish and unreasonable.
Putin, speaking on a visit to Finland, was commenting on a vote by the U.S. House of Representatives which on Tuesday decided to impose new sanctions on Moscow and to force President Donald Trump to obtain lawmakers' permission before easing any sanctions on Russia.
The sanctions have yet to be approved by the Senate or Trump, and a top White House aide said on Thursday that Trump could veto the legislation in order to push for a tougher deal.
Putin, who has repeatedly denied U.S. allegations that Russia interfered with last year's U.S. presidential election, said Moscow would only decide on how to retaliate against Washington once it had seen the final text of the proposed law.
"As you know, we are exercising restraint and patience, but at some moment we'll have to retaliate. It's impossible to endlessly tolerate this boorishness towards our country," Putin told a joint news conference with his Finnish counterpart.
"When will our response follow? What will it be? That will depend on the final version of the draft law which is now being debated in the U.S. Senate."
How would Russia retaliate? They've already given us 45. What nightmare could be worse?
They'll retaliate against 45.
Pee tape, here we come.
Am sure 45 told Putin it's not me, it's Congress. I don't think he'll sign it and Congress can overrule. He'll tell everyone I need leverage on Putin so don't want sanctions which equals I can't sign it or pee tape or worse comes out.
H just shouted to me "What's going on with Bernie Sanders?" Me "Shit. Is it healthcare or Russia? Oh. One of just two* to vote against Russia sanctions. Yeah Bernie. You're so pure. Putin' shot the goods on you too."
