We LOOOOOOOOOVE when people send us Edible Arrangements (I am a NICU nurse). The other thing that I always think is nice is when people remember that there are nurses working around the clock and send an arrangement for day shift and an arrangement for night shift. When I worked night shift, I remember feeling like I was part of the forgotten shift, so people doing this was so nice. We ESPECIALLY love the Edible Arrangements with the chocolate-covered strawberries. That and a nice card with a personal message would totally make our days (and nights)!

I ditto Edible Arrangements. Or pizza. Or a sandwich ring. Baked goods are nice, but we get them all of the time. Real food is nice for a change, and those three are the easiest to grab and go. (This coming from an ICU nurse.)

If you are looking for a gift for just *your* L&D nurse (as opposed to the whole unit) then I suggest a luxurious hand creme. Nurses was their hands constantly - I got some L'Occotane hand cream once that was great!
Thanks for thinking of your nurses! It's nice to be appreciated!
I brought in 3 lbs of chocolates from a local candy store - one for L&D, one for recovery and one for the nursery. I dropped them off around 6 am so the candy may have lasted two shifts ideally haha. The nurses were so excited and could tell where they were from based on the wrapping paper haha. (best chocolate store in Baltimore!)
My mom brought in bags of Lindt truffles with a thank you note for the nurses when my dad had surgery. One for the day and one for the night shift.
And by night shift, please remember the true midnight shift as well. The nurses who are working at 9pm aren't necessarily the same nurses who are working at 3am.
