I listened to a 15 minute rant this morning from one of my swing shift coworkers about our mug stealing, fake doctor's note writing lazy coworker. Apparently, the mug magically showed up back on the owner's desk. She also passed the buck on several work things on my days off that she should have known how to do or be willing to learn. So the two on swing shift brought it up with our supervisor, who said his usual, "oh, well she's trying." Actually she is not, but he won't do anything because the work is getting done and that is all he cares about. This is my 3rd year with this issue (different coworkers), and I don't expect anything to change. But the two on swing shift are upset, for good reason. I just do my job (and hers) because it would take me twice as long to fix her mistakes or try to show her than if I did it myself. There is really no reason to show her how to do things because she has no interest in working and won't remember, so I would have to show her every single time.
DD update: I'm about 65% sure I saw a seizure today. It's been a year and a half, and it was weird circumstances, but the look in her eyes was the same as she used to get.
mustardseed2007 , how far off the chart is he? How old is he again? If he is projected at 5'3" and males in the gene pool are 5' then I would say he is on track. Otherwise healthy?
I think this is coming from my place of honestly being tired of medical interventions. DS has had 5 surgeries, hearing aids etc etc etc. So personally I would wait until 7 and more info because I am too in that wait and see place where I don't think with DS's issues waiting another year will make a big difference.
He's in the .25% of males his height. My fear is he isn't going to make 5'3'' and is instead going to be 4'9'' like my nephew. He was projected to be taller than he is based on parental height. But then he ended up on the bottom range. The 5'3'' is mostly based on the height of me and my H. They can give us a more certain prediction when he's 7 apparently.
mustardseed2007 - I emailed the epileptologist to let him know but haven't heard back. I imagine there's nothing to do except potentially increase her dosage.
When we were originally doing testing to rule her in as a surgical candidate (prior to tumor being discovered) they discovered the tumor part way through a test and told us it was mostly pointless to continue testing
mustardseed2007, I would probably end up going down the rabbit hole of researching it to millionth degree and asking every doctor that I come across their opinion which used to be a lot of doctors because we see about 3-4. Good luck with your decision.
k3am - like only because I always have that feeling when DS has breathing issues - at first, I always struggle to remember and compare current to pass and feel so stressed and consumed by it. So your experience is affirming for me, but I hope you get to the next phase of certainty - knowing it is not (or is but I hope not) happening.
akafred, the only way to know for sure if it was a seizure would be to capture the abnormal activity on an EEG, which... I don't think either of us want to bother with. One hospital stay is more than enough for us. (I guess the alternative would be for her to start having them more consistently, but I'll also pass on that.)
After giving her her bath last night, I'm more convinced that it was a seizure. The girl does NOT lay down in the bathtub. EVER. So seeing her flat on her back in the bath, body tense, and the look in her eyes, I'm now leaning in that direction. It just took a normal bath to make me realize how weird the one on Saturday was.
You guys, someone said something about DD's birth family at lunch and it reminded me to stalk her bio half sister's FB as it has been a month or so. And...she is actively searching for her half-brother who was "taken" and "adopted out" (her words, not mine). He is DD's full bio brother and he turned 18 a few months ago. So now I have a contact point outside of FB (an email set up to search for him). I am floored. Not reaching out at this time but wow.
