I finally picked up An Echo in the Bone and I really enjoying it. I bought it in hardcover years ago when it came out and am just finally starting to get chunks of time where both DH and DS are occupied to be able to read something I can sink my teeth into.
I'm...not reading anything professionally. Do emails count...?
I don't like to read anything depressing. Gets to me too much since having kids. I'm always trying to keep it light!
I've been trying to keep a list of books to look for at the library. I read Seabiscuit this summer. Also am reading "My Life in France," about Julia Child's years in France with her husband. Pleasant and relaxing; not super gripping. Would be more interesting if you are really into French cooking or Julia Child, which I am not. Loved "The Rosie Project" and "Big Little Lies" but you have probably read those by now. "Goodnight Nobody" by Jennifer Weiner was pretty good. I've read two of her books now and find the characters to be annoyingly strong stereotypes, but the stories are entertaining enough to keep me reading. "The Husband's Secret" by Liane Moriarty is also something you probably already read. I didn't love it...it was okay, but kind of unsatisfying/unsettling/too dark for me overall. I also read "The Reminders" and enjoyed it.
My mom just gave me Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult. I love her, but I try to read before bed and I fall asleep every night with the light on! I am so spoiled by my kindle. I should be reading up on classroom management! This school year is going to be a good one!
