Jealous of ALLLLLL of this.
My weekend is going to be way less exciting. I will at least have whiskey. DH is in Scotland for work so I need to make room for new acquisitions

I am waiting for an order of small batch gin from Scotland and a few craft beers from the company that sends me beers from around the world every month. I'm looking forward to drinking it all when my dad & SM visit next week.

DARCY'S DONKEY IS MY FAVORITE SONG.
I saw them at a really fun local venue where we were seated right up on the stage and my friends and I started doing the donkey dance the second the song started and Patrick actually stopped and was like, "GET IT TOGETHER LADIES. PREMATURE EDONKULATION." And then I died.

I saw a few of those at the Waterloo Irish Fest not long ago. Totally worth the trip, if you're up for it next year.

I love them. Such a great show. There was one year here where it was pouring. Like, torrential downpour. And there was all this hemming and hawing by the fest organizers and they were like "Fuck it, let's do this." and started playing Swimming in the Sea.
Darcy's Donkey is a good one to run to, FYI. It's #3 on one of my running playlists.
DH is having surgery to remove all the bolts and the plate that are in his ankle today. I'd like some good thoughts that he doesn't puke in my car on the way home. He does not do well at ALL with anesthesia, and the surgery center is ~40 miles from our house.

Yikes. Can you at least ask for some of those emesis bags from the hospital? Good luck to him!
I want to go to Irish Fest, that sounds enormously fun and delicious.
Pixy, crossing fingers he makes the journey without getting sick.
PDQ Yesterday I noticed a mole on the back of my leg had gotten a little bigger so I went to the doctor and they did a punch biopsy. I'm trying not to freak out with the worst case scenario but since it's in a spot I don't pay attention to, I don't know for sure how long it's been "different". So of course I couldn't sleep last night and freaked myself out with various diagnosis via the internet. Ugh. I go back next Wednesday to get the suture out and they said they should have the results then. In the meantime my leg is achey.

I puke like that too. My last surgery, I talked to the anesthesiologist about it, and he said they'd made some good changes in the meds, but knowing ahead of time they could load me up on anti nausea drugs. It really helped. GL today!!

I temped at an office this week, filling in for someone on vacation. They're just so nice. I filled in for them in June as well. One of them got me a job interview for today, but I'm ambivalent. It's close-ish to home, but it's still in my same field. I wanted to do something else. This industry is so tiny.
I've been interviewing with a larger corp in a different field, but they take a long time to hire. So, with no actual offer, I'm going to have to take this (or something) in my field. I feel trapped by my 19 years in one specialty.

Last night, I realized I couldn't find DD's water bottle. I KNEW I had seen it when I was making dinner, but I couldn't imagine where I put it. I was really upset - it wasn't in the sink, it wasn't on the counter - none of the usual places. DH even checked the trash, because I thought I might have put it in there accidentally. I apologized and said I'd go buy a new one if I didn't find it, because it was obviously my fault.
This morning, after more searching, DH remembered that it was in his car.
My anxiety has been really bad lately, which makes me try to do too many things at once and forgetting things really easily. I felt so dumb and angry. I had convinced myself that I had lost this thing.
My mom is coming into town tonight, and maybe my dad and brother, too. It's sort of funny- they have plans and we have plans in town for Saturday night, but not the same plans, so we'll be like ships in the night at my house---sort of like when my brother and I were teenagers.
Thanks audette. The mole was removed in its entirety, so I'm hoping if it does indeed turn out to be cancerous, that we caught it before it had a chance to spread.

I got blocked on the local morning radio show's twitter, because I told them their statements about the eclipse were inaccurate. I also tweeted a while back that their Blow Up people were fake, so maybe they blocked me from that one. For media folks, they're pretty sensitive!
Our buyers in CO had their inspection this week and have zero items that they want us to address! I knew our house was great.
That's a huge relief, and hopefully means it will be smooth sailing to closing. We got our own inspection prior to putting the house on the market, on the advice of our RE, to identify the things that were likely to trip us up. (Our neighbors down the street sold earlier this summer and ended up having to put in a radon mitigation system, which made their first deal fall through and they had to sell it again. We really, really didn't want to be in that situation, especially since we knew we'd be living in VA as soon as we moved out!). DH fixed the main things that came up and we disclosed the other items, which put us in a great position to not have to do anything additional.
Unpacking is ongoing. I'll be so freaking glad when I'm done with work for today and have two days to focus on stuff around the house. Since things were delivered Monday, this weekend will be the first non-work days that DH and I have had to deal with the towers of boxes that are everywhere. I mean, I've been making some solid progress and I found our coffee maker this morning (yay!), but it's been in bits and pieces working around everything else I have keeping me busy. I'd love to do some exploring this weekend, too, but I don't know if that's realistic considering the amount of work we have to do around here.
Also, DH's wireless keyboard is killing me. It keeps freezing and going really slow, and I type fast so it had me tearing my hair out while I was trying to work this morning. I think my phone might have been interfering with the Bluetooth connection.
Need juju for a good friend of ours. She was diagnosed with breast cancer around Christmas of 2015 and spent last year going through chemo and getting a double mastectomy. Last week she had surgery to reconstruct her breasts (entirely from her own tissue, so no implants), and over the weekend the tissue in one breast developed some sort of necrosis. So she had to go back into the hospital this week to have one of her new breasts removed and now will have to have another surgery to either remove the second breast or put an implant in the first breast, which she wanted to avoid. She needs a break.

Yesterday was my last day of school, and today is my last day of work-studyish employment at the school. It's bittersweet. I'm really glad to be taking some time off (all of September for 3 vacations) and then temp gigs until the end of the year. I'll start UW Bothell in January. But of course, it's sad to leave behind a place you like, with coworkers who like you!
One of my coworkers R brought in my favorite donuts today, so that was a nice treat.
The lease on H's car is expiring. I was against him leasing from the start. He now realizes my issues were valid and he made a mistake. And he's lost the paperwork (hoping it's at his office - he's off today but on his way to his office to search after searching the house top to bottom).
He's been annoying me lately with little things and this is just the icing on a shit cake.
He gets - to borrow Eclairs phrase - enginerdy about things. Like he's a numbers genius and yet I'm all "Hey, not to state the obvious but you should do X, Y and Z" and I just want to step in and handle everything for him so his cluelessness doesn't cost us more money. But I don't have a business degree so what do I know?
Best to everyone going through health stuff. I hope everyone heals well and there is no puking.
We paid the last of H's hospital bills today! Six months and three days after he went into the hospital. I am SO THANKFUL for the excellent health insurance we have!
