Well, except this part isn't an Ugh because HERE IS ME WITH MY GREAT NIECE AND SHE IS ADORBS.
Back to Ughs - I am totally unprepared for school to start on Wednesday. Physically, much less emotionally. I haven't been able to finish up back to school shopping. B needs new shoes and more shorts and shirts. S needs a backpack. Like basic shit.
My oldest passed out cold on Saturday and I had to call the medics. The youngest feels like she is swallowing razors. Me too.
Both have appointments at the docs at 1. I came to work for 4 hours and my dad called to say he has "stomach issues".
They go back to school in a week and I hate it. I hate checking homework and I hate making lunches. I'd rather have a pap test weekly than make lunches.

poundcake, Is your oldest okay? That must have been terrifying.
Yesterday, DH and DD went to a friend's house to hang out with their kids and go swimming. This morning, DH realized that he left DD's sneakers there. She was able to wear another pair of shoes to camp this morning, but she said they didn't fit with socks so she's definitely going to come home with blisters. Now, he has to drive an hour to their house tonight to pick them up.

DS has two weeks of daycare left. Then a week of camp (to adjust to the place he'll be going to for after-care), then the following week is the first day of kindergarten!
poundcake , Is your oldest okay? That must have been terrifying.
They think it was a combo of not eating, not drinking enough, the extreme humidity from the night before and she was painting her nails (so the fumes bc she has asthma). She gets migraines also and had a severe one after it happened. So we are going to her doc today for recheck as she still has a headache and is a bit dizzy.
She's tough because she has Sensory Processing with food aversion so it's always a battle.
It was terrifying TBH. I was an EMT for years and somehow when it's your own, the calmness and straight forward thinking seems to fly out the window. Thanks for asking!
We were going to go to a local pub for lunch that's giving out eclipse glasses. I called them yesterday for details and they said they'd start giving them out at 1, no other details.
MH wasn't keen on going because he doesn't love the pub but grudgingly said he'd go if I wanted. Then he checked their FB page and they must've added some fine print today that says that you have to stay there for the entire eclipse to get the glasses. He doesn't want to do that, and there's no possible way DD will be calm for more than an hour or two, so here at home we sit.
And now I'm cranky because there's nothing good in the house for lunch. I had a bowl of Corn Flakes with coconut milk (since DD seems to be getting sick when I consume dairy) and I may as well have just poured water in there. Blech.
I also feel like I can't get ahead with pumping - she goes to daycare in a few weeks and I wanted to start freezing a small stash, but she's drinking it as fast as I can pump it.
2.5 weeks before school starts. 2.5 weeks before school starts. 2.5 weeks before school starts. 2.5 weeks before school starts........
Liking in commiseration.
H is home today as are the kids for the portion of the eclipse we get. Camp is over so now it's 2.5 weeks (with DS2 only 2 weeks with DS1) for me to figure out how to occupy / who can watch my kids. I think MIL is taking the bulk of this week and my mom is doing next week.
And this is so lame but my mom is taking the kids to DC for a few days next week and when I told H he said "Great, I can work late!" So I'm declaring it me-cation week and organizing happy hours those nights he's working late.
And poundcake - that is so scary. I hope everyone is feeling better soon.
My 18 month old has slept through the night maybe 8 times in her little life. She wakes up to nurse at least once per night. Last night it was two (12 am and 4 am). At the 4 am one she was up for 2 hours!!!!!! This is not typical but it is happening with more frequency. She has never been sleep trained. She nurses to sleep. My first nursed to sleep too at this age but typically slept through the night. Help! What can I do? This is not sustainable as I have to use my brain at work each morning. Please send advice and espresso shots. Thank you!!!
I'm taking Wednesday off to take DS to the pediatric cardiologist to get checked out (heart murmur that hasn't resolved yet). Not gonna lie, I'm nervous.

S was this way. Same situation. I don't have much in the way of advice because he just randomly stopped one day. I think I was out of town so maybe that was why?

Hey! There's your solution! Go on vacation!
It is helpful to know I'm not the only one who has experienced this!!
