Trump is still in the midst of his morning tweetstorm, whining about NAFTA and the wall (which will be paid for through "reimbursement/other"). Dollars to donuts he's jealous that the hurricane is dominating the news.
One of Caligula’s last allies was his beloved racehorse, Incitatus, who wore a collar of precious stones and lived in a marble stall. Caligula would invite Incitatus to dine with him.
Why is he so obsessed with these "nobody expected this" comments?
Is he implying that forecasters didn't do their jobs properly?
Is he excited that it's some kind of record?
Is he trying to claim credit for how big the storm is?
This is a rhetorical question because none of us can possible figure out what's going on inside his little pea brain. But it's weird, this is at least the third or fourth time he's tweeted something along these lines.

No.
Yes.
Yes.
I'm not surprised, but I'm still absolutely disgusted. He's fucking congratulating himself for the coordination of rescues in between advertising books for a friend and Mexico paying for the wall.

Wow - when you see it all laid out like this, he is so unstable

This is just all so sick. Seeing it laid out like that really brings home how off the tone is. He should be somber and serious. He sounds like a moron. Which is nothing new but dude the lives of actual people are on the line here.
And then HRC's tweet just nails how it should be done - starkly highlighting his many deficits.
Yes, praise to all out efforts. H will not likely sleep for weeks. I'm proud of the work he does.
If I were trump I'd instead be whining about how he'll miss our anniversary. Or maybe I'd be loudly praising myself for my sacrifice. Instead I stuck cards in his luggage and a nice bottle of wine.
I have no doubt there will be an anti expert anti science characterization for a long time.

Promoting self interest is bad enough. Doing it while a national disaster is ruining lives as we speak? Unfathomable, and disgusting. I hope the rest of the republicans find their damn spines and tear him apart over this.
to be fair, it was probably some 24 year old social media director for the hotel or even one that had been pre-planned. Still in poor taste, but not DJT himself.
Oh Lord, Trump is going to address the United Nations?
The top State Department envoy responsible for overseeing U.S. policy at the United Nations and other international organizations stepped down from her post Friday, continuing an exodus that is thinning the ranks of America’s most experienced career diplomats, according to a U.S. official.
Tracey Ann Jacobson, 52, a career foreign service officer who served as acting director of the Bureau for International Organization Affairs, announced her plans to take early retirement to her staff on Friday, just three weeks before President Donald Trump is scheduled to deliver his maiden address before world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly’s annual debate. Jacobson — the recipient of several diplomatic honors, including the Presidential Meritorious Service Award — is expected to continue in her post until early October.
Jacobson’s announcement came on the same day that William Rivington Brownfield, who has been serving as U.S. Assistance Secretary of State of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs since January 10, 2011, told his department that he would also step down by the end of September. It comes about four months after his wife, Kristie Kenney, on of the most senior foreign service officers in the State Department, announced her resignation.
I'd like to go back to a president who only uses exclamation marks in his posts for things like "Congrats to x sports team for winning x game!" or "It's science fair day; science is awesome!" Not "this storm is epic! people are dying and I'm promoting my friend's book!" He's such a horrible human being.
Unrelated but I just heard a commercial on Spotify encouraging people to apply to work for the secret service and I wondered how they intend to pay for new staff. I've never heard the ss do an ad before.
That is way too soon. It'll still be raining! They're going to have to divert needed resources to keep his ass safe. I hope someone with brains tells the WH to reschedule.

He did the same thing in Baton Rouge when he was a candidate, then badgered President Obama about not going. He doesn't give a shit about those people, just wants a photo op.

I was trying to remember when it was he did that during the campaign. He gave HRC crap too, didn't he? Even though people there were specifically asking him to stay away. He's totally going as a photo op/pay attention to me moment. He's awful.
I'm having trouble confirming this from a reputable source, but sounds like it was a resolution dealing with the Washington Metro system and authorizing warrantless "inspections" and "testing" on private property adjacent to the metro. It sounds like the impact is limited to WMATA staff coming onto private property when needed, but the potential for abuse and the precedent it sets is scary.

This is one thing that doesn't bother me much, partly because of what you said. And also Orin Kerr who is a Fourth Amendment expert and law professor seems to think that this is not the scary thing it sounds like. But most significantly requirement you need a warrant based on probable cause to conduct a search (absent well established exceptions like emergencies) is a CONSTITUTIONAL requirement. It simply can't be eliminated by a bill.

Nobody seems to give a shit about the Constitution, save for the 2nd amendment for white, Christian males.
