I rarely start these, but I'm all proud. Just drank a bottle of wine and then paid off the remainder of my car loan. Responsible, random purchases are better than drinking and buying random things on amazon that show up 3 days later and you have no idea why you bought air plants in the shape of squid!

I turn 30 today. I'm not feeling it. To make things worse we didn't really have any plans but my wife got called into work (perils of owning a business I guess) so I'm here alone most of the day. I have some errands to run but I just want to sleep and wallow.

If it makes you feel any better, I have loved my 30s so much more than my 20s. I feel like I really hit my stride as my confident, amazing self.
Happy birthday @seeyalater. I loved my 30's. So far not loving the 40's so much.
Having a lazy morning, need to get a bunch of small projects done around the house. The weather is finally nice so I should power through the projects so I can enjoy the low heat/humidity for awhile
An acquaintance from college who lives in Houston is apparently very impressed with our friend Senator de Senator, and crap he likes and shares from the campaign keeps showing up in my FB feed. I am enjoying another friend from college's constant, well-articulated criticism of his choices on every one of them though.
DH came home yesterday after being gone for 11 days, and while the rest of the family is happy to have him back, I'm pretty sure the dog was the most excited see him, and certainly the most enthusiastic. She's a butt wagger anyway, but her tail wagging was so fast her entire body was going.

Happy Birthday seeyalater52! I've definitely enjoyed my 30s way more than my 20s!
I'm driving today to get a hutch from my aunt that belonged to my great grandmother, who passed decades before I was born. Aunt is downsizing and won't have room. I'm so excited to have it and the connection to family it brings!

seeyalater52, I had a disappointing 30th birthday (was stood up by a friend and my family wasn't around) but my 30s were fabulous. Hoping you get a great decade as well.

Thanks, guys! I am really excited about being in my 30s, just not loving the focus on "milestone birthdays" which are the nightmare of introverts who hate parties and going out. Everyone wants me to make a huge deal out of it and I just don't wanna! But at the same time I'm being annoying about being alone today because I did want to do *something*

Happy Birthday seeyalater52!!! I'm sorry about the owning a business BS, as I feel you HARD on that! (Ruined more than one special day, here😌) SO take your day & let yourself rest up & sleep & pout & wallow cuz it's your birthday & you Do What YOU Want!! Then when your wife gets home, you'll hopefully be feeling much better & rested up, & go have a great dinner with loads of drinks!
We're going on a trip with friends next weekend. They're all in the city (2.5 hrs from us) & getting together for a mutual friend's (not going on the trip) bday tonight. Since they're all together- the guys have decided to have a "quick" Skype planning session/ round up of last minute details, etc. First NO! Not everyone there is going on said trip & even if you guys go to a different room, it'll be obvious & it'll feel as though we're rubbing it in everyone else's faces! (I hotly protested & wont be joining) I know the main planner has no ill intentions, but he's not willing to admit the terrible optics outweigh the value. NO- we'll get a group email started like we always do before group trips! PLUS- I don't want to commit myself to be available for said Skype Session. WHY is this so hard to understand?! Put yourself in somebody else's shoes for once, buddy! *sorry that for longer than intended & DEF a first-world-problem 😕
After a marathon week at work and ending yesterday in tears (I thought I'd done very poorly on a big interview but then discovered that I'm really just my own worst critic,) I'm headed to the grocery and then headed out to my screened in back porch to catch up on reality TV and snuggle with my pup.
Someone on our block put out cones in the street to stop people from parking in front of their house. I kinda want to go get them and hide them. (They don't want people parking in front of their house from the football game at the new stadium. I don't think we'll get a lot of people parking here.)
Enjoy the day and the decade! My 30s were pretty great, but my 40s were even better.
40's have been WAY better than my 30's (dd excluded).
im having a pity party for one today after seeing pics of 2 close friends enjoying Vegas .... it would have nice to even be invited. i'm feeling resentful of divorced parents who can co-parent thus are able to do things without having their lives dictated by this one question .... who's going to watch R ..... bc having to rely on friends is draining (and not having family handy either).
Happy birthday seeyalater52 !! My 30s were way better than my 20s. But my birthdays always suck (im an extrovert that never ever gets to have parties, and rarely even has gatherings. I was sad by how lame my 30th and 40th bdays were).

I make and freeze flour tortillas a few dozen at a time because that's the only way to get decent ones where I live. Unfortunately I also exist in a perennial state of exhaustion at the moment, and today was using a bigger measuring cup than usual and put double the amount of water - 6 cups instead of 3. So I salvaged some of the dough and made about 40, and now have a ton of too watery dough left that I feel bad about throwing away, but also don't feel like going to the store for more flour and rolling out 40+ more.
Having typed this out I realise how truly random (and stupid) it is, but oh well.

Yes, same! My 30s have been amazing. Happy birthday seeyalater52!

I suspect something untoward happened with or near my car yesterday. I parked at BART at the end of a row, next to a wall. When I came back, the whole interior reeked of pot. (Or skunk, but most likely pot.)
I'm so pissed and better not get pulled over because it would not go well for me ...

Bright side, pot should dissipate sooner. Skunk stays for DAYS.
Hennessy is a criminally overrated cognac. I maintain that it’s actually more fun to say “Hennessy” than it is to drink it. Because Hennessy tastes like ATM runs at 3 a.m. Hennessy tastes like puddle water and penitence. Hennessy tastes like it should be called “Omarosa.” 😂😂😂
