DD is almost 3 1/2 and in the past month or so has had 3 instances where she's been completely fine and playing and then just stops and cries for a couple minutes saying her head hurts, but then after those couple minutes is fine and playing again. I hadn't been able to get her to tell me exactly what happened the first two times, but she did it again last night and once she calmed down said it was hurting above her right ear and that it beeped when she talked. Anyone ever had their kid act like this? She's never had an ear infection, and I've already made her an appt for tomorrow to get it checked out. But I'm also pregnant right now and not exactly being rational so my mind is immediately jumping to tumor.
Saw the dr. Ears were fine, and she was uncooperative for the neurological testing they did, but said that all seemed fine too. They're getting her in for a CT and put in a stat order, but the earliest they could get us in was October. So...I guess we just wait.
I'm a worrier and can completely understand why you jump right to brain tumor. I'd probably do the same thing.
But in the absence of other symptoms (nausea, vomiting, vision issues, speech issues, balance issues) I'd certainly feel better about it most likely being something else.
I'm glad you are getting it checked out. I'm hoping it's nothing, perhaps just an ear infection or something. Good luck.
Glasses, allergies, sinus issues, ears, tooth problems, blood pressure or three year old dramatics. Could be any number of things - some of those more likely than others, but I wouldn't worry too much. Let us know what the doctor says tomorrow. Hope it's nothing or easily remedied.

Thanks. Honestly at first I thought it was dramatics, but she never cries about being in pain and she had real tears, so I think something is really hurting her now. I think her vision is fine, I've never noticed her squinting at anything and she can see small things pretty far away. I don't know. Hopefully we'll get an answer tomorrow and in the meantime I'll try not to get myself too worked up.
Maybe some molars coming in? Did she spend a lot of time in the water this summer? Swimmers ear is super painful
All her teeth are in. She did spend a lot of time in the water from swimming lessons and a beach trip, but we would put alcohol in them if she got water in them, or we thought we did anyway.

When c was around 4 she had something similar. She would get random headaches that were awful. She would scream sometimes. It was scary! Her pedi sent her for a ct scan and it turned out to be sinus issues. It could also be a need for glasses, molars, etc. I understand being worried but it can definitely be something simple! ❤️
