My liver has finally recovered from last weekend. I'm watching baseball and enjoying Ommegang Three Philosophers. After the game, I am going to start writing my first exam.
We did have a nice time there. Then we took our time driving home and stopped at a roadside stand to get some apples and fried apple hand pies. Yum! But in Helen, we sat in the beer hall, ate good German food, and drank beer.
I'm drinking diet ginger ale & coconut rum. SO CLASSY.
. OMG so am I! We hit the end of our (very small) liquor cabinet and we have a full coconut rum from the night I was determined to get my just turned 21yr old sis to drink. I had to google what to mix it with and ginger ale is the only result in the house. It's not nearly as terrible as I predicted.
I felt similarly for many years. Ugh. But my job now is wonderful. I hope that you will find this crap worthwhile in the long run.
How is your program structured? A certain number of years of classes, then an internship? Do you do any research?
thanks for the support. right now it's just hard to see big picture, ugh.
we are on a quarter system (10 weeks of classes) and my professors are a little ambitious with what they think we can accomplish in this time. I have 2-3 textbooks for each course and we will read them in their entirety. each quarter, we replace some of our course load with clinical placements so that by the end of our two years we are just out at placements. third year is clinical fellowship so no classes - whoo!
I will be assisting with research because I have a graduate assistantship (additional weekly commitment - fabulous). I also would like to complete a thesis, but I can't imagine adding more to my plate right now and I have a quarter or two to decide so we shall see.
ETA: I forgot I'm also in an anatomy cadaver lab right now which is insane. cool but insane. I held a human skull my first day. but yeah, it's hard to stay on top of everything. next week we have the same brain dissection lab as the med students. awesome and I am happy we have the access to the facilities we do, but COME ON.
I am stealing sips of H's hefeweizen while we watch football. Judge me.
I don't judge. Sip away!
Me either. I didn't even stick to sipping from DH's glass at the end -- I was enjoying my own glass of red wine there at the very end of my pregnancy. DD seems fine.
My friend came over and we had a bottle of wine while chatting and decorating. We then shared a pitcher of sangria at dinner. I'm turning out to be quite the lush the past few weeks.
