I walked into work to a pissed off email from a client that I have TOLD MULTIPLE TIMES about a specific issue. The email is basically "why did no one tell me this?!?!"
I'm tired and cranky. I want to just lock my PC and go the hell home. I want to be done with today.

I finished Daredevil yesterday and moved onto Iron Fist. I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.
I stayed home yesterday because I feel like I'm on the verge of getting sick. My throat is sort of sore, and I'm really tired and achy. I don't have a fever so I came back to work to get some stuff done, but I'm still feeling off. I have too much fun stuff to do the next 4 days to be sick. Bleh.

I'm at the eye doctors. I haven't been in 10+ years. So bad omg. This is the same practice I started going to as a toddler, and they dug out my old chart from freaking 1984. I'm both embarrassed and amazed lol.
Just talked to DH, and his three-ish week trip just keeps getting extended. He left Sept. 6 and originally he was going to be back the end of this week, now we're looking at maybe Oct. 17. I'm going to die of juggling all the things. And there's stuff around the house that needs to be done that I've been putting off for when he got back, but another three weeks is just too long to let things slide. Ugh, yard work.
I also apparently have lots more opportunity for binge watching TV. Any recommendations on Netflix or Amazon streaming? I've watched Catastrophe (loved) and The White Princess lately.

It's raining again today and I have another outdoor event. I hope it stops soon because the VW doesn't have working windshield wipers. It also doesn't have a working heater so this is going to be fun.

Maybe? Sounds pretty miserable waiting to see if it does. Last time I had one I was able to walk into a Minute Clinic, see the PA there and get an antibiotic prescribed and filled in about 20 minutes.

SCOTUS agreed to hear a union fees case again. So commence me freaking out. Last time the decision was 4-4 after Scalia's death. I am sure this court will get rid of union fees basically destroying unions and my husband's livelihood. SO kind of panicking.

My sister is burning her wedding stuff this weekend (I think, she may just be burning the photos and donating the dress). I'm hoping this brings her peace...that's not quite the right word, maybe closure. So I'm off for a GNO to burn things on Saturday. I've been mentally chanting "Fire. Fire".
I'm going to say this here because I know you guys will hold my ass accountable on this. I need to either actually find and go see a PCP or go straight to an ENT. Something is wrong with my throat. I've sounded like a 3 pack a day smoker off and on for months and in the past few weeks I've slowly developed this persistant feeling that somethigng is stuck in my throat. Like, that feeling when you swallow a pill and it gets caught halfway down? Except it's constant. And kinda getting worse. Oh, and the scratchy voice is getting worse. And I've convinced myself that I have throat cancer or something and am totally freaked and out and have thus done NOTHING ABOUT IT. For weeks.

My doc and our pediatrician both say if it lasts longer than 10-14 days it probably requires abx. Minute clinic?
Oh son of a whore. i just called the PCP mh went to a few months ago and their scheduling department is currently not answering the phone because of "an all staff meeting"
I've gotten myself all worked up actually typing out what I said above and now I'm all....I don't even know. I'm in a glass case of emotion dammit.

I am stressed out bc I think my wife hates owning her own business (started last year) and is going to try to transition back to a different type of job. We were FINALLY getting into the groove and now I feel like we're going backwards. I am trying to be empathetic but it's a lot.
We have a leak in our ceiling and it's going to be between $500 and 1k to figure out where it's coming from, fix the issue, and fix the damage. I am in denial.

I tried to let one "heal on its own" a few years ago and one day I leaned over to pick something up and almost fell over from the pain. I went to the CVS Minute Clinic and the nurse was like, "what the hell were you thinking?" I said I thought it would get better, like for people in olden times. She stared at me and said, 'you know those people died, right?' and then started talking about meningitis and how she used to have to cut open skulls in the desert for soldiers who waited too long.
wawa , when I had bad esophageal reflux it presented like that stuck in the throat feeling and wasn't accompanied by any other standard reflux symptoms. Not saying that is the case with you, but just throwing it out there that it might be something you haven't thought of that is not-cancer. Feel better.
It could also be a random vocal cord issue like a polyp or something. Even Dr. Google presents throat cancer as the least likely of possibilities here.
I appreciate the input though. I don't usually catastrophize, but...here I am.

seeyalater52, I'm sorry. I think our sewer might be breaking again, so I will suffer with you.
wawa, Good luck. Keep calling. I had a tonsil stone once that felt like something stuck in my throat (well, because something was). Warning: gross pictures if you google it.

I've gotten those as well. Gargling with salt water sometimes helps.
And brushing way, way back on my tongue when I brush my teeth has helped prevent them. I still get them once in a while, but nowhere near as often as I used to.

I'm sorry you're in a similar boat! We are new homeowners since February and it's still so nervewracking when things go wrong and it's our responsibility.
wawa, I was also going to mention reflux. A friend of mine had that similar stuck-in-the-throat feeling and that's what it was.
You absolutely should go to see a PCP, but in the meantime, you could try a course of omeprazole (Prilosec). If it helps, you'll have an answer. And of it doesn't, there's not much harm in taking it for a few weeks.
It is 93 (feels like 98) degrees outside, and I am making a roasted butternut squash and mushroom thing for dinner, as if it is actually fall here. Maybe I will turn down the thermostat so it will be chilly and more convincing. lol
I am covered in itchy bug bites. We talked to a couple of neighbors the other evening and I was apparently bug bait, since I got it worse than the others.
While talking to our neighbors, we found out so much more about the post Irma issues in the neighborhood, (flooding, contaminated drinking water, septic drain fields under water, and more), and how even those of us who lucked out and didn't have any damage may still be affected if fema declares the area a flood zone. Apparently the work on the interstate screwed up the normal water retention areas and caused all of the flooding issues from the two smallish ponds that are now one giant one. DoT blames the contractors, who of course are not accepting the blame. DoT actually brought in an independent engineer to take a look. Our next door neighbors have lived here for 20yrs, and they said that the ponds have never risen that high, even when they had four back to back hurricanes. It is a huge mess in every way possible for all of the people who live pond-side, since it still is not receding.
We also found out that after we all cleaned up the streets and our yards, strange cars were scoping the neighborhood and people in the adjacent development were burglarized. One person had turned off their generator to take a nap and was home, when someone (who assumed the generator being off meant that no one was home), tried to break in. That was a few blocks away, but it is so weird to me that we had no idea what was happening out there. Our next door neighbor runs in our area and is a realtor who sold a lot of the people in the area their homes, so a lot of the people around here keep her informed, or look to her for help/answers.

Water pick on the lowest setting and a phone flashlight. So gross, but so satisfying when you see the bastards popping out
