DH and I are drinking beers watching football this afternoon/evening so we decided to order food due to not wanting to drink and drive or cook lol. We have a pile of menus for places that deliver to our apartment and went with a local pizza/subs place. I just had pizza for dinner last night so I opted for an appetizer sampler and DH ordered a chicken sub. I didn't think you could mess up mozzarella sticks, potato skins, chicken tenders or breadsticks but I was WRONG. They all tasted horrible. DH said his sub was pretty good, why didn't I go with the healthier option and get a turkey sub?!
I find that I am becoming less likely to order delivery, I think the only thing that really tastes okay after the drive/wait is pizza. I usually order unhealthy food for delivery and I would much prefer to eat high calorie/fat foods fresh from the oven/frier at the actual restaurant lol.
Does anyone else share my disgust for delivered food (besides pizza) or have I had one too many Michelob Ultra's?
I have a favorite Thai restaurant and there are items I only order when eating at the restaurant versus take out (I don't bother with delivery and always pick up). Most fried things just aren't as good as takeout.

Fried appetizer sampler for dinner is gross enough, but fried appetizer sampler that's sat around for a half hour to an hour after it's cooked is even worse. Something like Chinese, Thai or Indian would have traveled much better. Even the fried foods made at a good Chinese, Thai, or Indian restaurant would have traveled better than pizza joint fried crap.
The expectation that a fried appetizer would make it to your door and still resemble food is unrealistic unless you live above the restaurant.
I love delivery, even though our options are limited to pizza, American 'Chinese' and Portuguese BBQ. Hoping the local Salvadorian place starts delivering soon though.

I love delivery, but have learned to order very carefully. Delivery food often tastes way different than at the restaurant. But, some tastes just the same (and maybe a little bit better because you're on your couch and watching TV).
