DAMMIT ALL TO HELL. That's one of the (seven...) colors I had picked for my "accent wall" in my bedroom that I decided not to paint. Seeing that makes me want to do it.

Talk me down.
I *think* this board is anti-accent wall....so...
Then that makes it even easier! My room isn't large enough to want that color on all 4. I guess I chose correctly (in the eyes of the board!).
I decided to add color with pillows, which I have yet to buy, and curtains which I changed my mind about. I'm a mess!

We have something very similar on an accent wall in our living room, and on the small wall at then end of the hall. The accent wall in the living room is the wall you see when you walk in, and it is the only wall that doesn't have any windows/doors. It's something like 17 ft wide by 12 ft tall.
I wasn't sure about doing accent walls, but in the four and a half years that we have lived here, I have never once thought that maybe it was a mistake, and it is high on the favorite list of all of our visitors.

I really hate that room. I am especially repulsed by the mantle being painted the same color as the wall. And the bookshelf, and the mouldings. Like it's the only color the paint store had.
I agree with treedimensional that the room is tooooo much. I do love teal though and have this color on an accent dresser and some pillows already, so yay lol.
The picture where the fireplace and trim work is all painted teal is awful. See above. The white trim and accents make it SO MUCH BETTER. I have crown molding and tall baseboards (10"), plus an all-white fireplace (floor to ceiling, 5' wide), built in white bookshelves and 6 white windows to offset the teal in my living room. Without all of the white, I agree it would be hideous.
Personally, I like accent walls. It's a great way to bring in a dark color and not over power the entire room. My office has two deep purple walls and two light gray walls. The wall behind my desk has a stencil using the purple and a tad lighter shade of purple. I love it so much. I sit on the other side of the room and just marvel at how much I love it. It's been painted that way for 3 years now. Purple is my favorite color, but it's too dark for my entire office.
Also, my guest room has a reclaimed wood accent wall. I would never put reclaimed wood on all four walls. It is a show stopper when you walk in the room. I sometimes open the door and just admire the wall.
Every room can't handle an accent wall, but if you like a color or texture and think one wall would be perfect, just do it.

I did one E's room because I didn't want paint her whole room in a brand new house, but gray everywhere was too much. #rebel
I like it. I would love to do a color like that in our bathroom, but DH would think it's too much.
That has been my accent color for years. I would never do it on a main wall but I did paint the inside of some of my smaller closets (coat closet, linen closet) a similar color and love it.
