Their new season is about Trump pre-election and the people that created the persona who eventually became president. This week's ep was about The Apprentice and how the people involved in the show contributed to the cluster fuck we're living in now. It's really illuminating.
I'll que it up. At the moment I have rage fatigue and PMS. As it is I am teetering on the edge of losing my shit.
I saw a Hillary=Untrustworthy billboard yesterday and almost swerved to take that shit down. I just can't. I know that's the point...
So, I totally get this and it might not be the right time to listen to this particular episode. Until a few weeks ago, I was in a horrible mental place and was giving the finger to every person with a Trump sticker. A combination of Wellbutrin, therapy, and reading What Happened has put me in a better place. Now I feel low level rage about the complacency of everyone involved in The Apprentice, but it sure did explain how a reality TV personality became president. (I realize there are far more complex factors involved, but this episode is only one in a series). But I'm not in the pit of despair listening to this ep. I would have been even just a month ago.

Ummm- WHAT?!? Who would possibly be spending money on this right now? #rhetorical WHY?! To prove that they didn’t make such a huge error?
If anyone can point me to a time in history when political parties were similarly divided/ as in ENTIRELY different viewpoints, please point me there.
Thanks wambam on my list- hopefully start to hit it up this afternoon 👍
ETA- AGREED in recommending “What Happened” if you haven’t already calamity. It really helped me realize if she can get out of bed everyday & face the world who voted for that ingrate, then, by God, so can I! I.e. it really helped me get out of my dark place/ crawl out of my “I hate the world” hole.

I heard a snippet of it on NPR yesterday - it was really well done and quite compelling. I sat in the car in the grocery store parking lot so I could finish listening to the segment. I didn't realize it was a full podcast.

The other (non-Trump) eps are just as compelling. There's one in particularly about addiction that was riveting.
What do you use for podcast listening? I’m not liking the new iTunes podcast app but I’m also not a fan of the Stitcher interface.
I use Google Play Music but that might not be an option if you have an iPhone. I also found Stitcher to be confusing.
Thank you. I saw the stitcher rec in the iOS update thread so I tried it and it made me feel like a confused old person. Which may be accurate but glad to see I have company in my confusion.

I applaud you for getting through this in a calm manner, because I was basically having a full blown rage attack in the car listening to this last night.
wambam can you spoiler it for those of us who can't listen but are hanging out here for the day?
One guy said the access Hollywood tape is perhaps one of the nicer things trump has said. Specifically, he made overtly racist statements on the set of the apprentice.
But basically, the people involved lied about DT to make his life seem more desirable. They wanted people to want to be like him. And they crafted his persona very carefully. They said while he’s always been DT, the persona who is now president was molded during the apprentice. Some people regret this and one guy is still a trump supporter to this day.
