I cannot believe this blatantly racist ad got past anyone, let alone an entire marketing team for a major brand. I am never ever buying a Dove product again.

I can't even see what decent message they may have been trying to send. It's so completely blatantly wrong that there could not have been an innocent mistake. No more Dove in this house.
Was the message supposed to be "use Dove and turn into a pale white lady"? Because, aside from being blatantly racist, that is a fucking stupid message. WTF, Dove?
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I just saw this posted on a blog site, and at first I assumed it was fake news because this is so obviously awful that I can't believe they did it. I am flabbergasted that such a big company thought this was a good idea, or even though this - period. Why the fuck would this be a message anyone would want to send?
I can't think of any Dove products that I buy anyway, but I will be making a point to avoid in the future.
What in the everloving fuck is wrong with people? How many highly paid, supposedly professional eyes looked at that ad from inception to production and didn't stop it dead in its tracks?
Not only will I no longer be buying any Dove products, but I'd love to know if this thing was produced by in-house people, or if an agency was involved. If it's the latter, I'll be happy to boycott any other products they're responsible for promoting.
It had to be a bunch of idiotic, racist white people sitting around making this decision. So they need more PoC at the table in their company (or did, as I'm sure PoC don't want to work there now and I don't blame them). But beyond that, white people, we need to do better. I mean, WTF?
The only Dove product I have been using is deoderant, and I no longer will be. I'm picking up a different brand on our grocery trip today.
I don't even understand this ad. Use dove, take off your shirt and turn in to a pale white lady?
No Dove in this house.
The final panel is the white woman turning into an Asian woman. I think the idea is that it is great for all skin but it doesn't come across that way at all. Where are their people? This isn't the first time.

No Dove in this house.
What I read here is that black skin is dirty/bad and white skin is clean/good.
I am angry even typing that. I can't believe that they intentionally created something implying that.
It's right there in the copy ... Dark =/= normal, I was thinking recently I should buy Dove to support their campaign about your shape is good no matter what your shape is but I recall the delivery bothering me at that, too. Unilever h has a presence everywhere and will be damn hard if not near impossible to completely avoid.

But then the white woman becomes an Asian woman. I don't have a damn clue what message this ad was trying to convey, but it doesn't seem as simple as that.
