I've been dealing with a lot lately, so sorry for not being around in quite some time. I hope you all are doing well. Perhaps you could guess as much, but I have been lacking in the self care department, though not completely lacking, so at least it is something. Hopefully you guys are doing better at self care than I have been.
Dieting we okay. DS and I ate out for the most of the week. That is going to catch up to me.
I took some time off from work on Monday and Wednesday and watched a bit of Parks & Recreation on Netflix and tried to make DS's costume.
DS and I tried to put together a birthday care package for DH. DH birthday was yesterday and the package is going to be late.
DS and I took MIL grocery shopping because she does not have Sam's Club membership and DH and I have Sam's Club membership. DS and I took MIL out to eat afterwards at her favorite restaurant for her birthday which is on Thursday but we celebrated yesterday.
DS and I made an big M & M cookie for DH's birthday and we sang to DH through video call. It was so nice because DS blew the candle for DH.
This week: I hope to get back to exercising at least twice on the treadmill.
I hope diet will get better. I have a half eaten big M & M cookie and pumpkin Twinkies. I had to buy the Twinkies to send some of them to DH.
I hope to find something else to watch on Netflix after I finish Parks & Recreation. I am thinking of going with DS to see The My Little Pony Movie.

It’s official, I have pneumonia. I was feeling under the weather all last week but just powered through, then it hit me like BAM on Friday, just in time for DS’s weekend with his dad. So at least I had a bit of relief so that I could spend the weekend hacking up my lungs in peace.
I got into my doctor’s office today and she ran tests and ruled it pneumonia and gave me drugs. Hopefully I will start feeling better soon.
I hope things improve cam, and that you feel better soon freezorburn,
It's same ol', same ol' here. I haven't been as diligent at getting out to walk and my food/beer intake hasn't been as restricted as it needs to be. But I am distracted by the 'rents.
Mother is recovering from her total knee replacement surgery in her usual fashion. Walking without a cane/walker 10 days out and driving at 2 weeks. She even took her 5 speed Miata out for a spin the other day.
The catalytic converter is dying on my Passat, so DH and I replaced it with an Accord- yay for cheaper maintenance and regular gas! The very next day, DS's ancient Cherokee wouldn't start. The Cherokee has been on hospice since May when the mechanic informed me it wouldn't pass the 2018 state inspection because of rusting. DS was crushed; I haven't seen him this upset since his cat had a stroke and we got that bad news. DS worked 2 12 hour shifts last weekend, so I didn't get a chance to teach him how to drive his dad's 5 speed Wrangler until last Monday; he caught on really quickly all things considered. But I hate driving with DS- it makes me nervous, which makes him nervous which impacts his performance which makes me more nervous. He's a good driver; this is on me. But there was this one time we were at a 4 way stop on a hill and some bozo climbed up his ass and he stalled it and nearly ran into him. Having the use of the much cooler Wrangler and mastering a skill that intimidated him has been a good experience all around. Still waiting to the car donation people at NPR to arrange pickup of the donations.
In this week's Old Folks Follies, dad (who has mixed dementia) has 3 appointments. Yesterday he saw the optometrist. The good news? His diabetic retinopathy is minimal. The bad news? He has significant macular degeneration. So we get to add a retinal specialist to his roster of medical providers. He did a face plant entering the office and the staff had to come help him up. Poor thing.
Today we see the gastro doc to find out WTF? is going on with his gall bladder which was supposedly removed in 1982. He's got some left plus blocked ducts and stones. Ugh. Tomorrow we look at hearing aids to replace his old ones. Doesn't look like I'll be getting much me time this week.
For self care I spent too damned much money at Ulta. Does that count? I got high end shampoo and conditioner, styling product, some serum and a spiffy new flat iron from the clearance section. I fogot the cheap face wash I went in for.

I need to work on this, too. Still adjusting to working more and I've had more medical appointments lately so it's been harder to fit in. I did play my guitar for a few minutes today, ran twice in the past week and had a brunch date with DH yesterday. So not bad but not quite hitting my goals.
