Nancy Noga. 17 year old girl from NJ, killed in January 1999. She disappeared walking home from her job and was found a few days later dead in the woods near her house. No suspect has ever been identified.
I was at Union last night and totally thought of him because of this post.
Union is one of my favorite places - and they have his posters up in there. I have wondered before if we have a serial. Brian and Joey look an awful lot alike and both disappeared from High Street bars. Although quite some number of years between the two.
So I started my long run at 5:30 this morning and so I ran for over two hours in the dark. There’s this path leading to the university where its creepy AF in the dark. I was listening to True Crime Garage about Elisa Lam and I absolutely had to turn it off. I cannot shake that video. Even hearing a description of it was like HARD NO.
Other unsolved cases that I would love to know the answer to are the West Memphis 3, JonBenet Ramsey, Matrice Richardson, Adnan Syed, the Austin Yogurt Shop Murders, Oklahoma Girl Scout Murders, who killed the boys on the tracks, and I'm sure Dyatlov Pass has a logical explanation, but it's my favorite mystery to look up all the different conspiracy theories.
The stepfather in the WM3 documentary was sketchy as hell.
First thing I thought of was the Dyatlov Pass incident.
while they know who killed these young men, they have no idea who these young men are. I grew up in this county, These are not the first bodies buried here.... Actually the Spilotro brothers were also buried close to a friend's house. I just feel bad that someone is missing their son or brother.

I know he’s always brought up, but the last few times I’ve looked up the case I just can’t seem to find the time he could have done it. The DNA on the shoelaces is easily explained because none of the shoelaces could be matched to any of the children specifically, so the stepfather’s DNA is probably on his stepchild’s shoelaces. I do think he was a very shitty person, but I’m not so sure it was him.

The Spilotro’s are family friends-not the mobsters, their older brother (the dentist) and their father.

I don't remember anything on the timelines, but IIRC, the guy has had two wives die, at least the second of "suspicious circumstances", and when investigators were trying to match up the bite marks (after the original conviction?), the guy had had all his teeth pulled and the dentist office where the records were kept had burned down. Either way, I think the teens got screwed.
I did a brief look-up, and it looks like both step-fathers have been thought to be suspects, but the toothless one is the one I was thinking of.
Eric Goldstrand and Lilana Adank. They were juniors at my high school 40 years ago when I was in my senior year at North Eugene HS. A couple weeks before I graduated, they were found shot to death up at Fall Creek. Lilana had been sexually assaulted before she was killed. Needless to say, our school was devastated by the news.
Their murders have never been solved though what happened to them was a pattern of deaths by a guy who was shot to death by police several years ago. www.truecrimediary.com/index.cfm?page=cases&id=17 But even if that guy didn't do it, unless someone confesses, whoever killed those poor kids will always remain a mystery.

I still think about the two teens who were murdered hiking last Feb, Liberty German and Abigail Williams. The audio of that man's voice haunts me, and it gives me chills to think about what was going on that one of them had the forethought to take that photo of him walking on the trail.
I did a search, and it seems as of last month, they might *possibly* have a suspect in a man who was threatening people on a CO hiking trail.
There were a few murders where I live locally that are believed to be the victims of a serial killer, but so far, they haven't caught him/her, and it has been a while since the last murder.
Ashlyn Bowman who went missing in my area and was later found dead in the woods. No answers as to what happened to her. She was 18.
This reminds me 2 people who disappeared from bars in NYC and later washed up in the water. It bothered me at the time that the young men looked so much alike and it did not feel to me like they were accidents. Two retired NYC detectives believe that there is a serial killer or killers. I haven't heard anything about it lately, but here is some old info I found.

What's crazy is that another young guy, who looked a LOT like the guy in my OP, disappeared from the same general area (although no body) a few years before. So crazy, and so sad
Jodi was a news anchor for a small TV station in Iowa. She worked the early shift so she arrived very early in the mornings to start her day. She just vanished one day, I think from the work parking lot. This was in the 90's. Nobody knows what happened to her.

Wow. I kept reading and I see the smiley faced killer mentioned with another one. It's crazy and scary.
I think the Relisha Rudd story is bothering me the most. To think of a child's whole life being so awful and then ending that way. It's horrific.
Amber Hagerman: Her case caused the Amber Alert to be created. Someone saw her being abducted and called the police. She was found days later with wounds to her neck
Lisa Irwin: I think the parents are involved
Missy Bevers: This story is local to me. Missy taught a fitness class early in the morning at a church. Her murderer was caught on video inside the church. Still no suspects
I think about the Missy Bevers case all the time. Watching the videos is so chilling. I really hope this one gets solved. And to not know whether the killer was a man or woman due to the fake SWAT uniform is so troubling. I personally think it's a woman.

That video is very unsettling. I read something on Reddit that she was bi-polar and prescribed a variety of medications (I think 4). When she died, the only recent medication in her body was an antidepressant, which is apparently pretty dangerous for someone who is bipolar to take alone. The person doing his "analysis" also mentioned in the post the lid to the water container was likely about 60 pounds. So a bit hard to lift, but she could have done it, particularly if it was already ajar.
Someone here mentioned the elevator game and I Googled that Friday night and I don't recommend it. LOL. Based on the "instructions" of the game it doesn't seem like that was what she was doing. However, one detail I found odd was the elevator door stayed open for a LONG time while she was going in and out, hiding in the corner, etc. This is a very old hotel, so I don't know if the elevator was just different, but this one wasn't slamming shut within a few seconds. It just...stayed open. Spooky.

The podcast I was listening to addressed both of these issues! The one guy has been treated for bipolar and agreed that anti-depressant only could've caused a psychotic episode (but he isn't a doctor).
The other guy is a security administrator and has worked in hotels before. He said that the door staying open could have happened as a result of pressing a bagillion buttons at a time. He said he saw that pretty frequently with kids playing around - if you pressed too many buttons, the elevator would just stall.
I really want someone to find Crystal Rodgers. She vanished and her car was found on the side of the interstate. Her boyfriend's brother was a police officer and was fired for tampering with the case. Everyone suspects her boyfriend but he's covered his tracks very well. Her parents had spoken out against him several times, and then last year her dad was shot and killed, which is also unsolved. Her boyfriend's new girl was recently caught stealing all the missing person signs that people had put up. I just wish her poor mother could get some closure on the death of her daughter and now her husband.
It really is! I've listened to a couple different podcasts that have covered it and it's such a head-scratcher. It's crazy how plausible the spy theory sounds.
I have been doing this too. I listened to both Missy Bevers episodes this weekend (actually my first time hearing about that case) and am just finishing the second episode on the Delphi murders. That one was made back in May, so they didn't have the updated information that we have from last month.
