Sorry to clutter the board with local posts but the local board on TN is dead.
My ILs are coming to visit for memorial day weekend and we are trying to come up with things to do with them. They've never been here before.
I know speed street and something at the whitewater center are both going on but I don't think they would enjoy those. We may go see the minor league baseball team play. I'd also like to go to the crepe cellar one day for lunch.
Does anyone have any other recommendations of things to do or see?
That's the problem... I feel like they don't have a ton of interests. They like baseball but other than that they generally are not outdoorsy. They definitely don't like NASCAR and I don't think they like to shop too much either. They are also not into music. That is why I'm having a hard time.

What about some of the museums uptown? The new art museum or the Levine museum? That could kill some time if you walked around and ate uptown too. I can suggest some restaurants if you give me a price range/type of food they like. Our hobby is going out to eat.
The Liberty is great food esp. if they like good beer (right near the Pewter Rose on South Blvd). We have taken my parents all over. Definitely do the Knights game if they like baseball, always a good time. The Raptor Center Historic Brattonsville in Rock Hill Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville - pretty unique thing to do Queens Landing in Mooresville has a steamboat on Lake Norman Mint Museums are both decent Sadly we usually have to go outside Charlotte to find things. It gets old after a while!

OMG, I forgot about Liberty. They have the BEST burgers. And I'm not usually a fan of burgers.

Okay, so the Fig Tree is out. Liberty would be a good place. It's burgers and sandwiches and such.....but really good. Midwood BBQ on Central is really good and very casual. My ILs thought Cantina 1511 was too fancy. They could get tacos for much less. Ha. Bad Daddy's (formerly known as Big Daddy's) also has good burgers. Good Food on Montford is yummy, but mostly tapas, so it might be out of their comfort zone. I'm not sure where you live, but there is a really good bakery on 7th street for breakfast stuff (Sunflour bakery). Cafe Monte near Phillips place is a decent sort of French place (but not too French). For places uptown, Brixx would be easy and it's close to the Levine museum. I also like Basil, but a Thai place might be a little much if they are used to red lobster. And the French Quarter (on the Wells Fargo side of town) has really good wings. Its hours are kind of odd though, so check out their website before you plan on it.
I don't know if it has started, but the symphony at southpark might be fun. We used to just take my ILs golfing. That took up an entire day.

It's hasn't started yet. In June, I think.
Really, I'm just posting here so I can find this later. Thanks for the great food recommendations! I'm not much help with ideas - most everything we do is outdoors or kid related.
Freedom Park is nice, how about the Whitewater center? I would take them to Price's Chicken Coop, see if there is anything playing at the performing arts center, walk around uptown... a new favorite of mine is Krazy Fish, down in Plaza Midwood, the food is AMAZING
