For us, it's just a small Thanksgiving with my parents (we don't have a relationship with DH's family). It's a 2.5 hour drive so we go up Wed. and stay overnight until Thurs. DH works Black Friday so we have to drive back Thurs. afternoon.
I am looking forward to a 5-day weekend, lots of great food, and time to just relax.
We will travel to H's cousins house outside Chicago. We've done it the last 4 or 5 years and it's always a good time. His next door neighbor is going out of town so we'll stay in her house and avoid hotel costs. We stayed there 2 years ago and at first I thought it would be weird but ended up fine. His wife and daughters are so fun so overall it's a great time. THeir town has a Christmas tree lighting on Friday that we always go to as well.
I appreciate this most because my SIL is always trying to "fancy up" thanksgiving dishes which irritates me - but this is probably because she's pretty nearly always in BEC territory for me LOL
I’m hosting between 16 and 20 people, depending on our BFF’s uterus. My neighbor is letting me use borrow a table and chairs and use her oven. I’m making 2 birds.
Both my FIL/SMIL and MIL/SFIL are coming. I’m not looking forward to that. Thankfully my parents, sister, SIL, her boyfriend, and my nephew will be there as a buffer.

I will be hosting. I need to start doing some prep this weekend. I'm pretty well-organized after several years of hosting so it's really not stressful at all.
I have Friday off, too, so we'll probably start decorating for Christmas, which will be a lot of fun.
We have been oot the past two Thanksgivings with my husband's family. This year we're staying here. Semi small Thanksgiving. My parents will host. My bro and SIL and their two kids will also be there. My mom is having a really hard time delegating and it's annoying. She thinks she needs to do it ALL which is just silly. I'm 38 years old and a pretty good cook. So I told her she could either assign me 2-3 things to bring or I was just going to bring 2-3 really random items. I'm looking forward to being here for the week, putting up Christmas decor and taking the time to get organized. I have to work a few days but I'll also have some time off. I do look forward to Thanksgiving day. Even though we live in the same city, I don't get to see my nieces often and my kids just adore their cousins. So i'm looking forward to them getting to play together while the adults booze it up!

Just me, H and David. I cook a full traditional meal every year for just the three of us and we stay home and stuff our faces and watch holiday movies. It’s one of my favorite days of the year!

I recently reconnected with a friend of mine from high school. Him and his wife and their child live around the block from us and his wife and I really hit off and our husbands and kids hit it off as well, so we have hung a few times. They are from from our home state (obviously) and have no relatives around and no relatives coming in for the holiday, so his wife ( my new friend!) will go out Friday for some shopping and then on Saturday us and them will get together for holiday stuff, either cookie decorating or something.
I am really looking forward to being with people and doing things with people and just hanging out and laughing and being together with friends.
I don't know?!? What do you think he should eat? Maybe french onion soup? 40 clove garlic chicken. A bunch of grapes? We also have some oleander bushes if he doesn't like those options.

I’m hosting a small gathering. It’s the four of us, DH’s grandma, and my dad. They are each bringing a dish or two. The only pain in the ass part is finding time to cook. DH works six days leading up to Thursday. DD has break and my toddler is that horrible age where I can look away for a second. I need to get started on the advanced prep now.
Friendsgiving this year! DS is having some behavioral issues, we can't drive 12 hours to DHs family. Normally DHs ex wife and her mother come but DH and EW had a fight and are not speaking at the moment. My SDs don't want her to be alone for thanksgiving so they aren't coming. So we invited friends. We have one couple confirmed, another family of 4 will let me know tomorrow so we will see.
Hosting 13, in-laws. Company starts arriving Tuesday evening and will be coming and going through Monday. Most staying at our house. I've hosted before, but not for several years. I will do all of the cooking, but am expected to make all of their family's recipes. I drew the line at the turkey. I will brine and cook as I wish...and I'm not stuffing the bird. It's a very unpopular decision, but whatever.

We're house/pet sitting for a friend and she said to have Thanksgiving there. So it'll be us plus whatever parents show up. Pretty small and i'm getting it 'catered' by Publix b/c I'm not about to cook. newp.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
My parents will come over. I'll probably still do the full spread since it's the first holiday in the new house, and it'll be a good test run before xmas when we're likely to have a fuller house.
We will travel to my sister's house, about 3.5 hours away. Not sure when we are leaving yet - it depends on how early DH can get out of work on Wednesday. It's 6 adults and 3 kids, with the possibility of others stopping by.
My sister and I have done Thanksgiving separately for years and now plan on doing it together every year, so we are working on trying to merge our preferred dishes. We will have 2 kinds of dressing, a couple of different salads, and a million desserts while we work it out. Not a bad problem to have.
Staying home and keeping it small, just H and DD but I like cooking a while turkey for leftovers.
I might have H invite some coworkers over who have no place to go but I'm not sure. So many people H invites over flakes (no shows, no text or call saying not coming). So a part of me is all "eff you flakey jerks" but the other part of me wants people to know they're welcome since the holidays can be hard away from family.
My cousin invited me over to her house. My other cousins (her brother and sister) will be there, as well as my cousin's kids and grandkids. I'm looking forward to it. I'm not really dreading anything. It will be cramped with all the people, but I'm not obligated to stay all day.
I do miss my kids and granddaughter terribly, but I'll probably be flying north for Thanksgiving next year.
"Why would you ruin perfectly good peanuts by adding candy corn? That's like saying hey, I have these awesome nachos, guess I better add some dryer lint." - Nonny
We are going to see family in Chicago area. Similar to what we do every year, but this year my aunt is hosting -she bought my grandma's house last summer and my grandma always used to host. Apparently she is ordering catering so it will be a bit outside of tradition there too. My parents and sister's family are coming up from TX so I'm looking forward to seeing everyone.
Since nobody really has space there anymore, H and I are staying at an Airbnb. Which is odd lol. We have always stayed with family when visiting. So we will see how that goes.
We are also heading into the city for Zoo Lights and the christkindlemarket. And then on Sunday we are seeing Hamilton!!! So the parts after Thanksgiving day are actually the best parts!

This year, we spend Thanksgiving with my ILs in NJ. It will be a bit more somber as DH's grandmother passed away a few months ago and her 4 kids are all at various stages of not speaking to one another and fighting. We'll stay there a few days. Then on the Sunday, we go with friends to a local Xmas tree farm to get our trees.
We are going to my dad and stepmoms. Because of my sister’s twins nap time, we aren’t eating until 4 or 5, which means we will only be doing 1 thanksgiving this year since DH’s family gets together in the late afternoon/evening, too. I’m super jazzed to only have to do one this year! Dh is bummed that I’m not pushing for earlier but everyone scheduled holidays around dds naptime when she was little and, frankly, the thought of 2 grumpy and overtired 2 year olds sounds like hell for all.
We're going to my BIL and SIL's house about 20 minutes away. I usually host but my thesis is due the week after Thanksgiving and I just can't this year.
I'm really not looking forward to it at all. They fight all of the time, whether there is company there or not so it's really awkward and Thanksgiving just makes me miss my family anyway.
