-cornbread stuffing (my family's recipe, I make it every year) -homemade mac and cheese (in need of a good recipe! see above) -pumpkin cream cheese pie (my own personal recipe, I make it every year)
It’s just us this year, so I’m doing everything. This is what I️ had in mind:
Garlic Mashed potatoes Sausage stuffing (using the basic recipe from the bag of Pepperidge farm stuffing mix ) Roasted Brussel Sprouts. Thinking of trying this recipe: thecrumbykitchen.com/bacon-balsamic-roasted-brussels-sprouts/ Cranberry sauce from the can Rolls - prob from a can as well
Buying pies from our local farm where I’ve also ordered the turkey from.

Thank you, that brussel sprouts recipe sounds delicious! I was looking for something in addition to the standard potatoes, green beans, corn, and stuffing we normally have as sides.
I'm pouting because being dairy-free for Thanksgiving stinks. Everything has butter! I'm looking to make a side dish and an appetizer that is safe for me to bring to my sister in law's. I will also make a small box of stovetop stuffing for myself since I can't eat the good kind.

Have you made capscapscaps Mac and cheese recipe? Mine is really similar to that except I also throw in a block of cream cheese.
I haven't but is that the famous GBCN one? I googled and found this.
Grandma Nugget's Mac & Cheese recipe
5 cups uncooked macaroni noodles 8 cups (2 pounds) shredded cheddar (I default to mild because I don't like sharp cheese) 2.5 cups white sauce (You can use less or more if you want, apparently this is adjustable, but I wouldn't use less than 2 cups)
White Sauce:
Heat 5 tablespoons of butter or margarine in a pan until melted. Add 1/8th teaspoon pepper, 2.5 teaspoons of salt and 2.5 tablespoons of flour and stir. Then add 2.5 cups of milk, and heat to warm. Wisk briskly (to get rid of any lumps of flour mixture) and then continue heating until it begins to boil/froth. Sometimes the milk has to be a between warm and hot before you wisk. Even if it's hot, you can still wisk it in the pan if you're careful.
Boil noodles and drain. Spread a layer of noodles on the bottom of the baking dish. Spread a layer of shredded cheddar cheese, and drizzle fairly heavily with white sauce. Repeat these layers (so at the end you will have noodles, cheese, white sauce, noodles, cheese, white sauce). Cover with tin foil and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Take the cover off, and cook for 15 minutes more.
numbers, I love this mac and cheese recipe from Ina Garten -https://barefootcontessa.com/recipes/mac-cheese
We are going to my moms and need to bring a dessert and wine. I picked out a bottle of pinot noir and a malbec and for the dessert I think I am going to make an apple crisp. Does anyone have a great apple crisp recipe? Maybe a cranberry apple crisp?
I'm hosting. Me and MH, DD (too young to eat), Mom, brother and sister. I have Grandma's china and silver, and I need to buy a new tablecloth.
I am putting out brie and apricot preserves in puff pastry as an appetizer, with crackers and apples/grapes and maybe some charcuterie.
Late FIL used to bring tortellini and peas in cream sauce. I asked MH if he wants me to make that but he hasn't decided. I will ask again before I go grocery shopping.
Mom is making mashed potatoes and mashed turnips, and a dessert.
Brother is making mashed sweet potatoes and bringing wine.
Sister is making vegetables, TBD.
I am making:
- turkey and gravy - a small ham if people want it, I have to ask - stuffing (both Stove Top and homemade) - more vegetables if Sister doesn't bring a lot - carrots, corn, something green - vegetarian mushroom gravy for Sister - store-bought rolls, or biscuits from a can, and garlic herb butter - cranberry sauce from a can - fruit crisp (blueberries, plums, peaches) with vanilla ice cream
We are having Thanksgiving at our house, but it's just the 5 of us (no family nearby...). So, I'm doing a simple menu since it's just us:
Turkey Sausage stuffing Mashed potatoes/gravy Cranberries from the can Corn Rolls Fudge pie or cherry crisp (H and the kids are deadlocked in what they want, so I might just do both because they're easy)
My mom is bringing rolls, pumpkin pie and apple pie.
My sister is bringing mashed potatoes.
My MIL is bringing green bean casserole and plain green beans.
I'm making:
Turkey (bastardized recipe that is essentially shoving a ton of herbed butter under the skin and then basting with a shit ton of white wine mixed with melted kerrygold butter and herbs)
Sweet Potatoes (Pioneer Woman recipe, topped with marshmallows)
Our thanksgiving is ridiculous. We start with 50 people overnight Wednesday night and 75 people sit down to eat. I can't even begin to list all of the apps, sides, and desserts.
Wednesday night I'm doing cheese and crackers and summer sausage and sprinkle cookies.
My contribution for Thursday am is pumpkin muffins and for the afternoon a veggie tray, peanut butter blossoms, seven layer salad.

Omg, please share the details of this. How do 50 people fit in one place overnight? How many turkeys are cooked?

Details- Wednesday anyone that is off heads to the backwoods of Ohio to a camp facility. Cell service and data are limited. The directions even say "print these out because your GPS may not work". Because it's a camp site all of the cabins, bunk houses, and showers are available just like you are at summer camp. We cook all day. Something like 5 whole turkeys and 4 breasts. 50 pounds of potatoes, 12 loaves of bread for stuffing. My mom (72) and aunt (77) run it like clock work. My generation is starting to take more notes though.
Wednesday night we have a huge bonfire roast hot dogs and have a potluck and smores and drink ungodly amounts of alcohol. We stay up late and play cards and talk and drink.
Thursday we roll out of the bunks, clean up and start cooking again. We start apps around 11 then have the first food around noon. After that there are hikes, cards, bonfire, naps, booze, whatever. Around 3 or 4 we pull out leftovers and eat some more. Then hikes, naps, cards, booze and then pull crap out again whenever. We stay up late again Thursday night eating, drinking, hanging out.
Friday we pack up the empties and head home.
It's awesome because even if you only make part of it there's always SOMETHING going on.

This sounds like lots of fun!
I was picturing 50 people staying at someone's house, which for me would be the stuff of nightmares. ::shudder::

Sounds so fun 6fsn! We have a cabin on a lake and we used to reach those types of numbers in the 80s and early 90s when we were kids. I have amazing memories from that weekend every year (4th of July for us).
I'm pouting because being dairy-free for Thanksgiving stinks. Everything has butter! I'm looking to make a side dish and an appetizer that is safe for me to bring to my sister in law's. I will also make a small box of stovetop stuffing for myself since I can't eat the good kind.
I’m making an all dairy free (but one recipe!) TG meal if you need help!
