XP from Home and Garden (which I guess is the new D&R?)...
We just bought a new house and I'm trying to get as much set up as possible so I can purchase beforehand. I am horrible at coordinating patterned fabrics and figured (HOPED!) you all could help me out
We already have this duvet from West Elm (with white sheets and a yellow quilt that matches that yellow stripe).
Would curtains made from this fabric be too matchy matchy? Or totally wrong?
We have yet to pick a paint color but I've been thinking of a dark and dramatic blue. Thoughts on that as well?
whatever paint color you choose, if it's not a neutral, I think it should come out of the duvet or curtains (I suck at mixing patterns so i'm going to leave that to others). personally, i like the ligher, teal-ish blue in the duvet. would be a cheery room color, i think.
but the answer to this really depends on how much light that room gets.
I'm not a big fan of the curtain fabric (I love the bedding though!) I think the colors are close, but not quite the same as the bedding and the slight difference would bother me. I like the idea of a dramatic blue for the walls though. That would look nice!

I definitely agree that the paint color needs to come from the fabric. I couldn't handle too many blues
That would be a whole lotta pattern going on in the room with those curtains. Pick a paint color from the duvet, and maybe do a curtain in this style (but not these colors) with the main part being white and the smaller part being another color from the duvet.
